Republic Broadcasting Network is very Part 15 friendly and welcomes rebroadcasters/affiliates. They offer satellite and internet streaming content. It would be a great include.

Also, looks like they’ll send gear to affiliates for the satilite, but you have to call some dude named John. Has anyone called him and he says sure I’ll send you $1,000 in satilite gear? I don’t mean to sound flippant here. I use a music service at my cafe and the box alone wasn’t free. Can’t imagine a dish, etc would be provided to a Part 15 station unless you have good coverage in a rural town.
Total posts : 45366They likely only issue SAT equipment to licensed facilities. That being said, mine does have a Cumulus supplied XDS.
Edit: I knew I recognized RBN, They are on the XDS sat system, Galaxy 19.
I LOVE the XDS, probably the best on the market right now. Fat chance a regular Part 15 could get it though.

I took a look at the site as the info they sent specifically mentioned “Part 15 friendly.”
They do have a live streaming player on the site and there is also an archive page which lists past shows by the hour.
They do mention “free” satellite equipment but is likely for commercial affiliates. However, that would need to be confirmed.
And yes, the link provided in the info they sent does link to their website.
If their service is on Galaxy 19, a receiver and LNB can be had for around $50 retail. I would think a “Dish Net” small type dish would suffice as Galaxy is fairly easy to find.

They indeed are, they piggyback on Cumulus’ XDS network. Cumulus doesn’t recommend anything under 8foot but I’m willing to give the 3footer a try.
Total posts : 45366I spent $55 for a receiver and LNB from Amazon. I had a discarded 3 foot dish. Galaxy 19 comes in fine.

Not true. I just called to confirm and RBN indeed still on the big bird.

Total posts : 45366That must be new, because I just talked to them on Friday and was informed both the ku and C-Band feeds are gone.
Good to see they could keep Galaxy 19, I’ll check it this weekend when my recievers come in. I can absolutely confirm they are off the XDS.
Total posts : 45366Talked to Mike at RBN last night…..he said he’d “double-check”….but was “pretty sure”…..that RBN was still on satellite…I CAN use their streaming audio, but it ties up the PC I’m using for music files and other program feeds….!!
