Total posts : 45366Interesting that one of the recommendations of the article is not to bother with a top hat, as it didn’t make much real world difference in the performance of his antenna (and was a pain to construct).
Total posts : 45366My experiance with Top Hats was limited to mobile HF antennas. The Top Hat reduced the amount of inductance needed to cover 75 meters but did not make the signal any stronger or easier to hear based contacts with folks that I normally chatted with here in Florida.
