The FCC may refer to them as a “pirate station” in their press release, but TV10 Did infact submit the license renewals. They were not operating under the pirate flag.
I have personally seen the receipt for $1,155.00 dated August 2004. The reciept tells a different story than the FCC has the media reporting to people.

Total posts : 45366This does appear to be a miscarriage of justice, particularly if you take the time to go to the link provided, and then scroll down to the comments section. There is another link there to an application for the FCC to reconsider, and it includes a copy of a credit card statement which shows a payment of $1155 to the FCC.
There appears to be some credence to the claim that the FCC is attempting to force this station off the airwaves to reuse the frequency, without having to go the expense of buying them out.

This does look as though the FCC doesn’t want this mom & pop tv station to muddy up their plans to relocate another tv station. They probably have limit funds as it is, relocation and going digital probably won’t be an option.
Shame they can’t be carried on a Lexington sub channel like WDKY-DT.

He’s been told there will be no financial assistance to relocate to digital even if he could get the channels needed.
He’s basically going to be left with nothing.
