to work. The kids weren’t home,
and my wife was watching one of
her favorite crime shows. Law
and New York, Miami Special Unit’s
Crime. Then she was going to watch
The Not So Great Wife, and after that –
The Mental Unforgetable Los Angeles
Whisperer.Wow! I had time to work on my Gates
board, due for completion in May, 2019!So, I did that. And I wanted something
to listen to while I was doing all of this.So I fired up the trusty North Country Radio
MPX96. A friend built it for me. I’m not sure
how much power it runs. But I have it going into
24 db of attenuation. (4 6dB attenuators.)
So if it’s output is 10 mW, it’s got about .1 mW
coming out into an FM dipole (on the floor). From a practical
standpoint, I can barely get it in the next room
on my Grundig S-350. (Oh my.)So I got on Carl’s website, and listened to
The Low Power Hour # 17, which was great. This
was coming through my station to the S-350,
but I had to keep moving the radio around because
there were nulls in my kitchen, 15 feet away. Then I listened to the “Blare on Air” episode
“Occupy,” which I liked so much – well – I just
let it run over and over. This morning I got up at 6:00, and decided to
listen to Low Power Hour # 18.When the orchestra came into the Internet Building
and started to play “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies”
(SP?) I laughed so hard I practically fell on the floor!Carl: WHERE DO YOU GET THIS STUFF?
I think from now on I’m just going to listen
to one of your shows when I get up in the
morning. What a great way to start the day!
I just had the worst cup of coffee (I made it)
I’ve ever
had, and I’m going off to work.In a really good mood!
