Hello all, must be my lucky day.
I went to my local Goodwill today and seen a copy of the Beatles “yesterday…and today” and swore I seen Ringo’s V neck through the cover. It was marked $1.99 So I bought it along with 18 other rock albums.
I posted all kinds of pictures of the album cover in a facebook page I am a member of related to vinyl records.
Based on all the photos I posted, it is confirmed, I bought a Genuine copy of a butcher cover paste over in perfect condition!
If you know the history, the butcher cover was seen as being offensive, so the records were recalled and a trunk cover was pasted over the butcher cover. These hold a big premium when sold to collectors.
This copy has the trunk paste over on top of the original butcher cover. Unpeeled like this one is, are worth a lot of money because a lot of collectors, got curious and peeled the paste over off, sometimes ruining the cover in doing so.
This copy has the original Capitol inner sleeve and the original vinyl record with the rainbow label.
See my photos. It’s GENUINE FOLKS!
