The Trail Leads to None Other
The AM transmitter at the other end of Mark’s link leads to none other than the well known Sean Cuthbert, famous for his C-QUAM AM transmitters.
The product description contains a link to Sean himself explaining the small AM transmitter featured in this offer.

I asked for some detail and the longer the antenna wire you use the better.
Will go farther than part 15 FM will with 10 ft wire.
With a energizer 9 volt battery you get a day run time or you can make a battery holder with 6 Ds and maybe get weeks run time. With adaptor you should get some ground with it.
Looks good and simple.
Stable enough to work with digital tuners and has to be a big temperature change to need adjustment.
May get this as no rule in Canada on antenna length or ground and this wouldn’t excede the field strength. Doubt Industry Canada would be concerned about this. No ones listening to AM between 1400 and 1600. Or would care.
Seems to work OK and not spend $700+

Here’s another which may be of interest…..
Got some info on this and seems better than the other and affordable!
Will work about 4 weeks at 4 hours a day on a 9V battery and will go 50 meters with a simple wire antenna.
May get this to have AM as a back up transmitter and basically plug and play.
