As I’ll be retiring in a couple years, and as I’ve acquired far more equipment than I needed in the first place, I’m offering one of my Potomac FIM-71 field intensity meters for sale.
This covers 45-225 MHz which of course covers the entire FM broadcast band and beyond. These are excellent for doing measurements to determine legality of FM Part 15 transmitters, as well as a host of other duties in broadcast and public service radio.
This unit is in excellent condition, has not been used extensively in the field, mostly just close in lab work. Is in excellent cosmetic condition – rather than looking like it’s been through a war like so may of these – and comes with the heavily padded custom fitted wood case, as well as a mint original manual. Also included are the accessories including the leather neck strap and both the calibrated long and short lengths of coax.
In the interest of full disclosure I will say that at some point in it’s life the glass in the meter came loose and fell tilting back in to the meter. No damage was done and it’s glued in place now, but every once in a while the needle hangs up about 2/3 of the way through it’s swing. I’ve been meaning to take it apart and fix the glass correctly and permanently but never got to it. It’s easy enough to use a piece of tape to pull the glass forward when needed, and because of this I’m offering this unit well below market value for one this nice.
If anyone is interested it’s $1250.00 INCLUDING insured shipping in the USA. I gladly accept Paypal or a MO. I will also be listing this on eBay at the same price with a “Buy it Now”.
