An example translator callsign is: K220HT
What we know is that the “K” stands for “west of the Mississippi”.
The “220” means “FM channel No. 220”.
My question is, what do the last two letters mean?
Apparently, they don’t mean anything.
They are assigned sequentially, based on the order of licensing, so AA, AB, AC, etc.
