Wow! Great to be back!! I was worried I’d never be able to get this forum again. Tried one more time tonight and voila! … it actually opened this time.
Wow! Great to be back!! I was worried I’d never be able to get this forum again. Tried one more time tonight and voila! … it actually opened this time.
Also, Friday Harbor tinyRadio was able to broadcast live remote to the web and also to my STL computer and AM 1650 in town tonight. The system I used to broadcast from the club was 100% wireless.
About 3.5 hour audio simulcast, Blues Night at the Rumor Mill. The owner’s daughter is in hospital in Seattle for surgery (cystic fibrosis) and was able to hear it live … Steve Keys (lead guitar and vocals) on stage mentioned she was listening and everyone wished her well. There were others listening in other parts of the NorthWest as well as in town. To my knowledge no one has done anything like this here before.
There was more background noise than I had hoped (that’s fixable … I have a plan;)), and the recorder ran out of memory about 1/2 hour short, but hey … it got done!!
Ya know, it’s one thing to broadcast local music playlists to attract people to live venues, but it’s another thing to actually broadcast live music LIVE on the air! I think I might be addicted 😉
Under the wings of grace in Christ, many thanks to Clearwire Corp. wireless broadband internet, been buggin’ their techs on the phone all week, also to Steve Keys and the Wednesday Night Blues Band, Orin and Becky Combs, owners of The Rumor Mill Restaurant (for supporting live music, planning on live music somewhere around 200 nights a year!), and the their very patient staff, my boss Zed Park of Bob’s Taxi for letting loose of me for this evening, and driver Randy Berg whom I was supposed to back up, a caring and supportive community here in Friday Harbor, Washington, and last, but far from least, this community of radio hobbyists and pros without whom this successful little experiment would not have happened … thanks for knowledge imparted, advice, and inspiration!!

I wanted to ask you some technical questions,
but the heck with that – you were successful,
and it was a big undertaking!Congratulations!
