I know a number of part 15’s take our shows and don’t tell us they do, so I wanted to post this here so that they’re aware of the upcoming changes….
To our friends and affiliate stations and networks:
I know most of you are working on skeletal crews for the next couple
of weeks. Just to let you know that I’m attempting to get shows up
EARLY to accommodate you. This week’s Wyatt’s Favorite Radio is
already up and set for download, and I’m trying to get as much of
Sunrise in as early as I can. This week there will be no problems
getting sports and commentary posted prior to 6am Eastern/3am Pacific.
Hopefully next week will go as smoothly.CHRISTMAS ON THE RADIO AFFILIATES: If you want or need any special
elements – interviews, liners, promos, that you don’t already have in
house, email me now as the ship will sail fast. We’re already at the
11th hour.WYATT’S FAVORITE RADIO AFFILIATES: There is a new show produced this
week, and is available in addition to the 24 hour special.AMERICAN SUNRISE AFFILIATES: Beginning with the show for January 2,
2006, the show will now be uploaded in *SEVEN* segments, not four.
Segments 1, 3, and 4 will be split to allow stations additional
breakaway time without having to manually edit the segments. I will
also be adding a little bit of “cut-out” space for disclaimers and
local ID’sCurrent formatting of the uploads:
Segment 1 – 6:00 to 18:58 – total time 12:58 – Agribusiness and Daybook
Segment 2 – 22:00 to 29:58 – total time 7:58 – Features
Segment 3 – 33:00 to 48:58 – total time 15:58 – National Anthem and
CommentarySegment 4 – 52:00 to 59:48 – total time 7:48 – World Headlines and
Lighter SideNew show formatting as of 1/2/06:
Segment 1a – 6:10 to 14:58 – total time 8:48 – Agribusiness
Segment 1b – 15:00 to 18:58 – total time 3:58 – Daybook
Segment 2 – 22:00 to 29:48 – total time 7:48 – Features
Segment 3a – 33:10 to 44:58 – Total Time 11:48 – National Anthem and
commentarySegment 3b – 45:00 to 48:58 – total time 3:58 – More commentary
Segment 4a – 52:00 to 53:58 – total time 1:58 – World Headlines
Segment 4b – 54:00 to 59:48 – total time 5:48 – Lighter Side
As for naming conventions, I am torn. Do you want asDDD#.mp3 (where
DDD=MON-FRI and # is 1-7), asDDD#?.mp3 (where DDD=MON-FRI, # is 1-4
and ? is either a or b or omitted for segment 2), or even the more
logical asDDD##.mp3 (where DDD=MON-FRI and ## is the approx start time
of the segment – 06, 15, 22, 33, 45, 52, and 54)? Which makes more
sense to you? Will email everyone on Friday to let them know.ALL AFFILIATES: The backup feeds at http://www.americansunriseradio.com
will change as of 1/2/06. There will be no backup segmented feed of
Sunrise. However, for those stations who want NO cutaways, a daily
version of the hour will be available at
http://www.americansunriseradio.com/sunrise.mp3 after 6pm Eastern Monday
through Thursday and on Saturday for the following days play. NOTE TO
THOSE THAT ARE LINKING TO THE PODCAST THAT THIS IS A NAMING CHANGE
from sunrise.wma. The Sports and daily commentary and Wyatt’s Favorite
Radio will also change to http://www.americansunriseradio.net/sport.mp3,
comm.mp3, and http://www.wyattsfavoriteradio.com/wfr.mp3.Have I confused everyone enough? Good.
Almost done.
A strange rumor surfaced this week that I was seriously considering
hanging up the headphones due to – get this – failing health that has
caused me to drop over a hundred pounds this year.Huh?
I think that everyone knows how much I needed to drop weight this
year, especially given my state of ill health during the first six
months of this year. However, considering my tremendous recovery and
now being in the best shape of my life, I found this rumor to be
fascinating. Any one who has listened to the show and has followed my
progress over the past year knows what’s going on. This person
hadn’t, and I couldn’t get them to be more open with me than that.Whatever the motivation, someone’s started a disinformation campaign
against me. Just like the old days.I am embarking on a campaign after the first quarter (March/April) to
raise awareness of our program. Thanks to you and your listeners who
allow me the courtesy to come into their homes and the few, the proud,
my sponsors (we have had a record year – no, not profitable, but at
least now the ends are waving at each other!) I should be able to put
some money back into American Sunrise Radio this year! When I started
this syndication effort nine years ago this june, I never thought we’d
still be at it. Thanks to the grace of God and all those people in
the balcony we’re still hanging and banging.Let me close by saying that 2005 has been one hell of a roller
coaster. From my lowest lows to my highest highs. I’ve been
fortunate enough to be able to share it with you and your listeners,
my radio family. I hope to never take you for granted. Unlike others
in this business, I never have. All The Best,
Wyatt Cox

Total posts : 45366I want to thank everyone for their kind wishes on the occasion of my
turning a HALF-CENTURY!I hope everyone has caught onto the feed changes from Accent and
other places. Here’s hoping.I need to run a few things past everyone before I do them, as I
would like to shoot for a July 3rd start.FIRST, I am wanting to change the Morning Sportscast to FOUR
minutes, with a false breakaway after my national spot (it’ll be a
music sting of some kind) that will enable stations to add a local
spot.Likewise, I want to lengthen the Morning Commentary to FIVE minutes,
but instead of a false breakaway, adding a 30 second PSA to the mix
to cover a local break for stations. This would benefit Part 15’s and others that might like to use the
commentary in a Top of the Hour newscast position. Finally, is there any interest in a three-minute Business Brief to
be filed late in the day (around 5pm Eastern-2pm Pacific) and then
refiled with overnight data early in the morning (6am Eastern/3am
Pacific, earlier if possible). The floor is yours for open discussion.

We’ve tried many times to contact you in order to carry your programming but never heard back from you. So we moved on.
I’ll try and email you again and see if we have any luck.

Total posts : 45366That’s strange. Though Yahoo’s spam filter has seemed to be unusually agressive lately. Be sure to put American Sunrise in your subject line…

Total posts : 45366Just wanted to say thanks to Wyatt! We got it squared away and are actually running the program as I type here.
I’ve listened now for a few weeks via the website and love this program! I hope our listeners enjoy it just as much as I do. If not, too bad! 🙂 It’ll be there anyway! hehehe

Total posts : 45366Monday’s show is a special tribute show on the 5th anniversary of 9/11.
It is available NOW for download at the usual sites.
I enourage stations to download NOW and check for content. The hour
is intense. To those stations that run the entire hour or half-hour segments from
americansunriseradi o.com, you should notice no differences except that
the usual “segments” aren’t there. To stations that download the segmented program from
radioforthefamily. com, you will probably notice unnatural breaks
between the 6 and 15 segments and the 33 and 45 segments. To overcome
that problem, I’ve put up a four-segment version of the program that
follows the Wyatt’s Favorite Radio clock…They are labeled as911-#.mp3.If you have questions email me

ASR is one of the most popular programs on our station. Our highest listener base is also during the times we play ASR.

Total posts : 45366Christmas on the Radio is now in pre-production!
This year the focus will be on Christmas 60 years ago, with shows mostly from 1947.
But then, I have to include a couple of shows from 1937 and 1957….
I already have a number of affiliates already pre-signed from last year. Anyone interested get in touch with me asap. The web site will be updated soon with the new show information!
You heard it here first!
