The next regular TeamSpeak meeting of The ALPB is Saturday, March 19th at 8:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time (00:00 UTC Sunday.) Note the Daylight Savings time change.
Well, The Initiative group now has their own forum site at The-Initiative.boards.net where you can discuss their plan to cause regulatory changes at the FCC. The ALPB endorsed their plan for power increases as they apply to our Part 15 activities. Further, The ALPB assisted initially by providing use of our TeamSpeak server and a temporary space at The ALPB forum board.
The idea of member stations participating in a “group production” was kindled by Carl Blare of KDX Worldround Radio. Initially a talk show format to be moderated by Carl, member stations could join in for a round-table talk show using TeamSpeak. The show could be picked up live by member stations for broadcast and/or recorded live for rebroadcast. This should be a fun discussion topic for the meeting.
Artisan Radio is planning to produce some presentations for The ALPB. Articulate and knowledgeable, these presentations should be not only educational but enjoyable as well.
On average, attendance has increased a little. Let’s make it alot! If you’re not an ALPB member yet and would like to join in, visit TheALPB.COM and read over the Charter Document. If it sounds agreeable to you, download and install TeamSpeak Client and let me know. I’ll send you the TeamSpeak server address and password and you’re in!
No dues, no commitment, just friendly talk about the world of Radio and thanks for your support!

Total posts : 45366I just read that I might be the moderator of a new talk show being considered at the next ALPB Meeting.
By way of preparation for the show I’ve concocted a new game show called “Symptoms of Insanity”. Here’s the start, then it’s over to other panelists for their inputs:
Our game is called “Symptoms of Insanity”
1. Exploring for life on other planets while snuffing life on this one;
2. Fretting over presidential campaigns while the Nation has for years been controlled by psychopaths, sociopaths, sadists and exploiters;
3. Promoting commercial sales while exporting jobs, packing prisons, closing borders and producing products and services that cause cancer.
4. Clinging to an imaginary species of one gender bestial deadbeat-dad “God” who steals back what he’s previously given.Your turn.
Joining the ALPB is not a symptom of insanity.

Total posts : 45366On ALPB Meeting Day I like to give a little thought to what might be said or asked… preparation, you might say.
In a nearby post MrBruce indicated that he has something to say at the Meeting, so we’re looking forward to that.
MrBruce also expressed concern that the FM Initiative would occupy a large share of time, and I think otherwise, although we shall see.
As has been made clear, the FM Initiative is not an ALPB mission, although in a spirit of cooperative support the ALPB, especially Chairman MRAM Bob, has assisted the Initiative in setting up its own website and made the Teamspeak Meeting Room available for Initiative Meetings, giving it a separate existence. Therefore one would think that the ALPB Meeting will be about ALPB business with perhaps a brief report on the progress of the Initiative without lengthy details.
Artisan Radio has offered to bring seminars and presentations to the meetings, designed to boost interest and support in building part 15 stations.
Atrain Radio has planned to contact Allan Weiner of WBCQ about the idea of seeking a shortwave Amateur Broadcasting Band, and may have a report on the results.
I have been invited to a vodka tasting while also attending the Meeting, so I might have a few things to say.

Total posts : 45366Thanks Carl. One reason we have our own website was to not hijack part15(dot)us with all the comments about more power. Our site (see my signature) was meant for all of that sort of stuff.
I am hopeing however to hear more from A-Train to see how things are going on the shortwave part of the initiative. Maybe He’ll post over at our site as well with the progress.
It is true that at first we borrowed the ALPB web site and Teamspeak for the effort of getting started, The Initiative is doing far better having its own website.
If we get enough interest we’ll look into ways to have voice meetings. But for now we’re trying to get die hard participants for our cause who will remain trustworthy and loyal.
I would much rather hear what Mr. Bruce has to say at the meeting and just chill and mingle for a bit. I still hope that though we are separate entities that we can still get along and be friends here. I don’t see this site as competition with ours and I don’t plan to compete with the ALPB we are separate groups with two entirely separate missions here. Any blurred lines I truly express my deep apologies for.
Best Regards to all.

Total posts : 45366Part of my mission that I’d like to speak about at the ALPB meeting tonight is sharing my station’s MP3 files for station time, station’s local temperature and station’s local humidity level.
These files have to be hosted on a long term data base, where they will be available on a long term basis. I do not want to share them on a site where the links will expire and become dead links.
Before I can produce directions on how to use these files, I need them to be stored at the same site as the blog or thread they are introduced in.
Bruce.

Total posts : 45366Hmmm depends on how big they are. May be able to post them on our Initiative site or even better Google Drive. I think you get like 10 GB’s for FREE there. So it should be plenty of room for those.
Maybe someone else has a better idea at the meeting. I don’t know if I could get them to work with NextKast however. I know they are meant for Zara Radio.

I will be at the meeting, but as per usual, I can’t join in at the start. It will be sometime between 5:30 & 6:00.
I am planning out a little talk/presentation in the future on A Poor Man’s Guide to Automated DJ’ing. I will share my experiences with several methods of DJ automation, one of which is TTS (Text to Speech), another is automated prerecorded MP3 files. I’m sure there are lots of other ways as well, but hopefully it will serve to get the creative juices flowing for people.
Of course, live DJ’ing is far superior, but given that most of us are combination Station Owner, Engineer, Program Director, DJ and Janitor for our stations, we have to be realistic.

Total posts : 45366Guys, the most important thing to me is given credit to those who have created the intitial content.
But, what I need is the files to be stored in a manner that they can be downloaded as a complete library. The time files folder contains 108 files, all are MP3s containing the time in hours and minutes for every hour from 12:00 to 11:59, there is no PM or AM, and they are not in military time.
The temperature files are 92 files from 10 degrees to 101 degrees.
The humidity files go from 0 % relative humidity to 101 % and contains 101 files.
All files are MP3s.
Most of those files are open source, I am the one who stitched the words together using Roxio’s Sound Editor software to make complete sentences, which is what they are now. I wish I could share one or two files now but can’t.
My Internet station plays the time files, but no one here, is willing to listen long enough to hear what they sound like, they play twice an hour, programmed at 20 minutes after the hour and 50 minutes after the hour.
Listen here (link below) by clicking the player button on my site to activate the stream, wait till the time files play before you log out, then you’ll have an idea what they sound like.

Total posts : 45366Last weekend’s ALPB Meeting is no longer going on, it finally ended sometime Sunday. Many fond memories linger about everything that took place, but if I told you what it was you might not feel any need to join, and you are welcome to do so.
The ALPB is stronger all the time with more and more new members, and we laugh about the earlier years when some critics were saying that it would never last.
Since the ALPB has lasted and become the leading force behind legal low power radio in the World our critics have grown old and moved into retirement centers, but are still eligible to contact MRAM at the ALPB Website for free instructions.
