This is kind of a funny little
thing, but for the first time,
I feel as if my little station
has a purpose.Right now it is 250 uV per meter
@ 3 meters on 90.9 MHz as per 15.239.This is kind of a funny little
thing, but for the first time,
I feel as if my little station
has a purpose.Right now it is 250 uV per meter
@ 3 meters on 90.9 MHz as per 15.239.
That’s all that is running as I work
on other transmitters, and other gear.In this neighborhood the houses
are almost on top of each other,
so there is a chance that the small 90.9
signal can be heard by some people.I have intermittently been working on
the carrier current set-up, the Gates
board, the 3 meter outside set-up and
the 13.560 rig, along with other DRS2
things. The station has always been just an experiment.
I am following something from the legendary
SCWIS, (I think that’s his ident, do I have
it right?) who diagrammed on his website, the
simplest Part 15 station possible. Right now,
as I work on everything else, and wait for
parts, another junk computer, etc., I am
only doing one thing.I am retransmitting NOAA weather radio. 24/7.
With everything else taken apart, I just
have a weather radio hooked to the transmitter.
I don’t even need an audio processor, because
the NOAA radio audio is processed already. The
weather receiver is an old beautiful Bearcat 800XLT.
It’s very sensitive.
The transmitter is a North Country radio MPX-96
rigged to comply with the regs. The station was always just a science experiment
Now it’s transmitting some actual useful information. For the very first time, I feel like DRS2 has
a purpose. Isn’t that a funny thing? Now I just have to get these other things
done.Bruce, DRS2

Your service to part 15 is known about up here.
I am the guy up in heaven who answers prayers and keeps track of people who do good things.
Everything you do for part 15 low power radio is good, so you have a red carpet right into the theme park of heaven.
The carpet may be somewhat tattered and is somewhat off-color, being more of an orange-pink, but come right on in.
That takes care of you.
NEXT!
