Total posts : 45366I bet using 1/2 hard line or 3/4 inch hardline or even 1 5/8th big cell wave coax hardline would work even better and keep it around 10′

Total posts : 45366I’ve posted a link earlier which describes a helically wound magnetic loop (using very thin, wide, copper stripping) that might have some promise. Although I’m working from memory, I believe the guy had a 6 foot diameter loop that tuned 80 meters with reasonable efficiency.

Total posts : 45366The loop antenna links are very inspiring and might be great for compact part 15 medium wave operation.
In the first video link the rig stood just under 10-feet and was used indoors so it might solve a lot of problems for some hobbyists.
I’ll be watching for reports from anyone who gives it a try.

Total posts : 45366I’m curious to know how the 3 meter length rule applies. Would the diameter or circumference be considered as the length? Then, there’s that pesky coax to add in.

There, that didn’t take long.
Here’s what I come up with.
The loop must be made from a 2.95 meter length of wire with the lead-in to the transmitter being .5-meter.
It will be very tiny and may be the solution we’ve needed to solve indoor space problems.
There are some very small radios made which might work best to receive the loop signal.

Total posts : 45366That length obviously wouldn’t be possible in a helically wound loop.
