A station here in this market just switched formats from all sports, which dates back to about 1780, when America was first begun, and now its slogan is “The Woman”.
I was very curious to hear how a station format could appeal to women, although I guess the sports format probably was mostly males, but what I hear is like a non-stop edition of Saturday Night Live in which women talk over each other and act all floozy, going on about eye lashes, nails, a slight bit of male bashing, and the show has a few male staff members, but they are dweeb milktoast types, who try to get a word in and get put down like “outsiders”.
If Disney Radio attracts children, which I doubt, because children aren’t stupid, then “The Woman” might attract 8th grade girls.
But it’s better than sports.
