The holiday season, the running-the-heater season and the *%@!% gas prices really have me by the throat but it would sure be nice to throw a few more dollars at getting a faster host.
Then I thought to myself “I can’t afford to send much money, but I could do a little bending and stooping.”
My idea – clean the closet for part15.us
I have a bunch of odds and ends from my various low power radio projects that I’ll probably never use again. The stuff I’m thinking of would probably sell on ebay if I ever took the time to list it, but it wouldn’t bring in much money so I keep putting it off.
While doing a little research on the best way to sell off my cast-offs, I found this article, stored as a PDF file, that indicates the “best” eBay selling price is $24.95
That gave me the idea to put together some ebay listings of items or groups of items that I would be delighted to sell for $20.00-$30.00 or so. Nothing I might use, just the stuff I really don’t think I’ll have any use for in the reasonable future. Why should some little pile of goodies like the Amidon toriods I bought for a circuit I never built, or the breadboards I don’t use anymore because I can’t see that well, or whatever, sit in my closet when someone could be using them?
The fundrasinig part is that instead of drawing the paypal payment to my account, I’ll just take out the postage and send the mrchandise payment over to Part15.us
My closet will get cleaner and our board will get faster: win-win
Heck, if only a few of us sold one $25.00 package of stuff the board would get more than enough to finish the move and have some left over for upgrades
Experimental broadcasting for a better tomorrow!
