A government dictated fairness doctrine for broadcasters would be a huge mistake at a time when so many polititions are religious zealots and intellectual dwarfs. Their version of “fairness” would contain toxic radiation.
Rather, the management of fairness should be the sole province of station owners.
As a station owner I run a secular station, believing that religious programming is commercial despite the pretense of it being somehow “holy.” A government forced doctrine might require I provide equal time to sales churches, which would result in my quitting radio.
So Robert, YOU be the fair one, fear the government for it’s unbroken record of “getting it wrong.”
Fair to say.
