“1380 The Woman” is the station I talked about above, and just next to it is a station I will talk about now.

1430 is a very old local station that presently runs a 24-hour “Music You Went to High School With” format, which is probably very popular. If it had disc jockies I would pick a favorite one and listen myself. For decades the station has been 5kW day and night, but they got a CP (Construction Permit) to increase daytime power to 50kW.

They must have a great engineer because the switch to 50kW is already done and the CP isn’t that old.

Tonight I watched the 50kW peak from 1430 on my spectrum analyzer while also listening on a radio. At 8 PM the signal turned off and the peak on the screen dropped to nothing. A few seconds later the 5kW transmitter came on, and on the radio it was pretty much the same level, but on the spectrum analyzer the peak was a lot lower.

Now I’ve done it all.
