Be aware that AM amplifiers are different from FM amplifiers that you might have read about. The AM amplifier, unlike FM, must be linear. Nonlinearities will cause all sorts of interference problems. Just be sure about what you select for this.

A more practical approach at this power level is to use a high level modulated transmitter designed for this power.
