Many thanks MRAM Bob for all your work on this ZaraWEB RDS Tool.
Amazing that you translated the Manual from Spanish, as you also did with another manual in the Zara collection.
I have REALLY gotten to like Zara and find it to stand very tall compared to little dink players like Winamp.
I will wait until I'm off the air tonight so I don't mess up my streams all day, then get ZaraWEB RDS checked out.
I saw your starfields and started running when one of the meteors came straight toward me. It took out a shoe I had on the floor.
ADDENDUM
FIXED! I figured out how to get the CurrentSong.txt file to show up.
Here's how. In Zara Radio OPTIONS/GENERAL there is a PATH leading to where CurrentSong.txt is located. It needed to be properly set.
Actually, Google Translate does the initial work putting the text into English.
Then the fun starts trying to correct all the grammar errors and figuring out what it's trying to say.
Thanks for pointing out what determines where the CurrentSong.txt file is located. I updated the ZaraWeb RDS manual to include that important piece of the puzzle.
Part 15 dot US are the only 15 parts you will ever need.
With all the good help I've been able to get ZaraWEB RDS running on my website.
I notice it publishes the names by which audiofiles are saved.
It does not publish metadata from tags ID3 Version 1 or 2.
It is also notable that Zara Radio V 1.6.2 can be set to show Tags ID3 Version 1, but they are only shown in the Zara Player Windows, i.e., NOW PLAYING and COMING UP NEXT. The tag information does not get passed through to stream listeners.
Some people are never satisfied.
Now that Zara Radio V 1.6.2 has been checked out to the point where I know its strengths and limitations, I thought it would be worthwhile to give Zara Radio V 1.4.4 a try so that Winamp Plugins could be returned to service for a more customized ride.
In a past time I tried Zara Radio V 1.4.4 and recall that it crashed so much I could never use it.
Well, I wasn't wrong. Not a single one of the Winamp Plugins that I need are recognized by Zara, and trying to fit them in causes it to crash. Period.
Those Plugins include Multiple_DSP_V1.6, Stereotools, SHOUTcast_DSP_V2.3.2 (which can be used in V1 Legacy Mode), SAM Encoders, or Edcast Encoders. Not one of them will function with Zara.
Other than that you should join the ALPB.
Winamp may not shut down at the end of the day (Dec. 20) as a last minute stay of execution may be in force

The Winamp website has been cleared out.
No more player, no more plugins.

Shoutcast is also beginning to change. The Forums are gone.
I can still download winamp today , Perhaps someone is trying to keep it alive ?
This is what happens over time as Corperations take over small and good outfits.
Once the INC Bankers or bean counters figure they can't get rich off of a product they close it or sell it to another POS Corperation .
AOL has never been a good and this is what I expect from them.
It's just like when giant Corperations buy the small maket AM Stations and then close them after a few years .
I think VLC Player can do all the streaming things that winamp can do .
Check it out.
I checked out Winamp and Shoutcast earlier today and found that I also was able to download the player, server, transcoder and ShoutCast plugin.
I'll probably keep using the old faithful version ShoutCast server and plugin but will keep the current versions in storage just in case.
Both now owned by a Belgian concern.
Over on thealpb.com MRAM 1500 put a notice about the new owner of the Nullsoft properties, including Winamp & Shoutcast.
