Listen2myradio.com has a free player that you can copy/paste the html code into a browser page. You could use Komposer to do this and that is FREE. The only thing I am not sure of is how to route your router to a main page. There is a Shoutcast D.N.A.S 1.9.8 which I believe MRAM had on his site to Download. You can set that up and have the player automatically run when the listener comes into range of the wifi. I could have the WiFi's network ID as The Legacy. And this way people could look for my network. Trouble would be for the Android. Now the paid version of Listen2myradio.com has where their web player will work on an Android but not sure about the web player that will work on other servers so I'd have to experiment with that. If it does work it could be a part of this WiFi Radio Network. And since the FREE player works on any server you simply use your server instead. Trying to see other ways to do this too. You can use WiFi repeaters all over the place and if you could trust your neighbors you could have the repeaters in other's houses so you have it going over a mile. It would have better use in a motel/resort type setting too.
This thread on Wi-Fi Hotspots joins nicely with this other thread over at thealpb(dot)com
