Thank you for your input on this. You can probably see why I thought otherwise. I can design and build a car to be roadworthy but, at least here, it is not legally until it is inspected by the State Patrol and I have the certificate from them. My reading was that your unit was "designed to be compliant" and I didn't doubt that it is, rather it didn't appear that you had actual FCC certification.
It would be very clear if you listed your FCC ID number.

Whole House,
I appreciate your efforts to "prevent any confusion" about the question of certification and you mentioned that you changed your FAQ to do so.
Here's the original text from your site:
Yes, the Whole House FM Transmitter is designed to be FCC compliant with Part 15C [Section 15.239(b)] which states:
And here's the edited text from your site:
Yes, the Whole House FM Transmitter is designed (and licensed) to be FCC compliant with Part 15C [Section 15.239(b)] which states:
The only change I see is you added the phrase "and licensed". Since the FCC does not license part 15 FM transmitters, I wonder how this prevents any confusion.
In my mind the question of your unit being FCC certified remains unanswered.
It would be very clear if you published your FCC ID number.

I did a search on the FCC OET Web Site. I can't find any listings for "Whole House" or "TAW~Global, LLC", so we need the FCC ID. They may have it listed under a different name.

I think this is a case of wishful thinking. It obviously is not certified or the manufacturer would have posted the certificate number for all to see. The statement "designed to be compliant" does not equal FCC certified. Any time I see a business that practices this kind of deception,I steer well clear of them and their products. If they cant be up front and honest before the sale, what kind of treatment do you think you will receive after they have your money???
This kind of BS behavior really raises my blood pressure,so as the last I will post on this subject,I say to Whole House "prove that your units are certified or state that they are not".

To get a copy of this citation (issued February 26, 2009) concerning the marketing of Whole House FM transmitters, type DA 09-437 in the "search" space on the FCC web site, www.fcc.gov .
Last year several folks asked if the Whole House Transmitter was certified.
It ain't 🙂
Emil's post above gives the overview, and here is a link to the citation
Oops!
I have one question since this transmitter exceeds FCC rules part 15 then why is it still being sold right
now????? I can see the device is not legal by any means, so why has the sale of this transmitter not been stopped.

Well dont you worry, the FCC is fixin to put them outa business real soon. Me thinks they are trying to sell off their inventory to pay fines and get rid of inventory, thats why the ads have cranked up a notch lately. I still think its a shame they were allowed to advertise an illegal product on this site. They duped a lot of folks by saying it was "FCC compliant" when it was not,not even close. They will now be paying the price, probably fined for each unit sold.
I suspected this unit was not legit as soon as it was clear that there was no FCC ID. That's almost a dead giveaway that something is non-compliant (I am referring here to products that are required to be certified).
What I don't understand is why someone would continue to market a non-compliant product after they have been told about it by the FCC. It seems to me that this would compound their penalty, similar to operating a non-compliant broadcast station after being told to shut it down.
Usually the penalties are less severe if you comply promptly and fully with FCC requests, but they will throw the book at you if you don't!
