hi has anybody out there tried this and if so how does it work and what's inside ?
I recall seeing that before, but can't tell you much about it.. There are a few discussions on this site concerning it though:

http://www.part15.us/forum/part15-forums/general-discussion/talking-house-help
http://www.part15.us/forum/part15-forums/general-discussion/just-starting-out-part-15
Now it's bugging the crap out of me, because I know there was a more in-depth discussion about that antenna years ago with more pictures, but I can't find it in a search now - I'm suspecting it must of been in the same place Scwis mentions in that first link above where he said:
"the Kenneke antenna was disassembled and reviewed on another site but the seller asked the reviewer to take the info down, saying the information about the circuit was proprietary. It is as the earlier poster guessed, a slug tuned coil matched to a short wire antenna inside a project box. I don't really care for the slug tuned approach, I prefer to reduce the number of coil windings to keep resistance to the signal at a minimum.
Also radiobrandy.com mentioned it is "DESIGNED TO MATE WITH TRANSMITTERS WITH 50 OHM OUTPUTS" but nothing more about it. Maybe it was their reveiw where I originally saw it, but there's no such reveiw there now.
OK.. I give up, I can't find it, but here is the instructions sheet to it:
I forgot that antenna existed. Do they still even sell it?
ok thanks now can anyone till or show me how to make slug tuner for part 15
Just what is the advantage of this antenna? Looks to me like a wire and an ATU. How would this outperform the wire antenna of the Talking House?
I remember reading somewhere this guy was rip off.
Thelegacy asked "Just what is the advantage of this antenna? Looks to me like a wire and an ATU. How would this outperform the wire antenna of the Talking House?"
-- I don't think it could. I have been using TH tx's for years. It's just a wire antenna, weather it has a slug-based ATU or (very possibly) toroid inducters...I can't say. I can tell you this much for sure: A properly designed and built base-loaded coil and 3 m copper pipe will blow away just about anything else when tuned to resonance...but the best ground return condition you can accomplish (ground radials) is a huge part of what makes AM bcb radio work. That, and a quality receiver...automobile receivers are actually among the best, but check out receivers and antennas available at C Crane
