Hi Guys!

I know I haven't been on here too much,
but I still read the website every day.

I have 3 projects going on here all at once.
Most of you guys know what they are - but
anyway I'll mention them.

I'm still working on the 1962 Gates Studioette
control board. Then there is Carl's (KDX Radio)
13 MHz transmitter project. Additionally, I'm
trying to get the AM back on the air.

Although I am still listed as MICRO1690/1700,
the 1700 channel has become pretty full of
stations lately, so I may have to be on 1690
all of the time. Although I transmit on 90.9
on the FM band quite often, the power is very
limited, (Part 15.239) and 90.9 is mainly used
for test transmissions to check out an evolving
studio.

For you ham guys, there has been a little bit
of ham work on the 80 meter band, specifically,
3560 kHz Morse Code low power. Tests have
been run with a ham friend who is 100 miles
away. The transmitter in test is a 3 watt 6AQ5
oscillator (one stage) transmitter. Lately, the
receiver in test has been a Heathkit GR-81
regenerative receiver. I have made contacts
with my friend in New Jersey using this gear.
(I'm in Connecticut.)
It is not easy, but I am really a low power vintage
gear guy. I have a fair amount of old tube gear
so the ham shack changes every so often.

To quote a phrase we have all used from time
to time, "life has been in the way quite a bit."
But I still love this site and read it every day.

The last thing - my station name will probably
have to change. So I will have to eventually learn
how to change the labeling of it here on the site.
One reason in just being on 1690 daytime, and
the new launch of the AM seems to need another
name. Even though I am regularly on FM as I
mentioned above, there are just mainly audio
tests. Although I love transmitting on FM for
my own use, for me the real thrill is trying to
get an AM signal to radiate as far as possible
under Part 15.

Anyway, thanks guys, I'm still out here.

Bruce, MICRO1690/1700

Good To Hear from ya Bruce.
At least you are making headway on your projects.

So far I have 2 broken radios I still have to deal with, one which I thought needed tubes, but turned out to be wrong and now have no idea whats wrong with it, and another radio that exploded due to a dried up capacitor.

But I have recently Revived the 1560 AM broadcasts and am celebrating 2 years of oldies.

Any way hope you get your station back on the air!
