Gosh, my dad would have done the

same thing.  But I haven't lived in

his house for a long long time.

What was the FCC agent's name?  Just curious.

I believe I read that the agent's name was Juan Silva. I forget which thread/board it was on.

i don't think there is anything sinister going on here on the part of the fcc agent. i am starting to think that radiochiks statement could plausably be accurate.

that just leaves the gaule situation where there is the taint of him possibly owning and possibly using high powered equipment.

i would like to hear the results of radio systems investigation and/or the agents side of the issue in both these situations.

i am seriously beginning to believe there is more to both these situations and that missing piece of information is the key to it all making sense.

Yeah, radi0chik got suspended years ago, and I had to make another name. I'm radi0chik on the rest of the internet. How do I know? I called a friend at the FCC and asked him. From what someone else posted, the story is correct, because he told me the same name of the FCC employee who made contact with crow here. The guy I talked to at the FCC informed me it was someone "from out of town" who was passing through, and heard some questionable words (cuss words?) on one of the frequencies, and, after not hearing call letters (or hearing some that weren't legit?) made the complaint. He didn't tell me who it was or where they were from. I've known LibertyNT (as he's known on radio-discussions) online for quite some time, and have even exchanged PMs with him in the past. I never turned him in, I had no reason to. As far as I was concerned, he wasn't bothering anyone, or hurting anyone, so I left well enough alone. Apparently, someone else said something.

My dad and I had an understanding.  I

could have as many working and junk

radios as I wanted in the house, as long

as he got to grumble that they were pretty

useless and stupid and would do me no good.

He was trimming the hedges one day, and

I was there talking to him.  Then he took the

clippers and reached up and cut apart one side of my

40 meter dipole.  I knew that he knew that I

would have it back up in a half hour.  And I did.

It was an understanding between my dad and I -

and it was based on a humorous set of strange

goofy rules.

A man of few words and great accomplishments,

I was and still am very proud of him.

My damage control department may be just as bad at reversing my damage as I am at making it, but it might be good to try.

In this thread so far the thing I most wish I hadn't done is snap at Rich in one particular instance. This is a formal and public apology.

I don't think I was too caustic in criticism of the supposed government agent, because I was careful to make the remarks dependent upon whether things happened the way it appeared in early accounts.

Also, I got the agent off the hook by shifting attention over to the suggestion that bad HAMS or vigilante engineers were known to impersonate agents, but in so doing I probably have some of them tracking me down.

I hereby recuse myself as a judge in the transcendental court because of my partiality for The Crow, a person I will side with regardless of what turns up.

Here on the crippled cruise ship "Worldround Radio" we are planning modifications to remove us from the scope of any uncoming drone activity. All FM is off; AM is being run sporadically at reduced power.

A bit of cloak and dagger has been sprinkled around with "I can't tell you who said this, but here's what a reliable source said."

And, "His DAD did it, but I won't tell you how I know" - the mark of the radi0 -

We are participants in an Arnold Schwartzeneger movie. First California, now Part 15.

The forthcoming ALPB Meeting on Friday may turn out to be the most important meeting in the group's history. We are hoping for a record turnout.

Well hell thats news to me.

Made me look like an ass.

Either way, I pulled the sites myself. I have all the equipment excluding the transmitters.

Case in point, I wish I was there for the thing.

I simply posted the events as they were reported to me.

I'm not making them look bad, I simply showed they do not mess around.

So on my behalf, there appears to have been a bit of a miscommunication here. it was my understanding all the transmitters were taken under the guise of being "illegal" I had NO damn idea they were forced upon the agent to take.

So hell, let ME apologize for causing this mass hystaria where none was needed.

On a more serious note,

cursing and illegal Call letters on my station?

These are things I NEVER did. The station was clean as a whistle. I'm insanely curious who turned me in now. The station had peacefully existed on 99.9 for a LONG time.

As for Dad... He did help with the station, no I don't live with him anymore. This explains quite a bit actually, he has no idea the technicalities of radio. Which DOES explain how all the transmitters got taken, freaked out and gave the agent all of them to avoid any problems.

and yes I'm well aware of RadioChick, had quite a few back and forths with her.

At any rate, I've been in part 15 for far to long for it all to end this way.

I've got big plans for my cluster, and it will make a triumphant return. (Though all on AM this time, and online)

Actually, Liberty/Crow/Whoever 🙂 There's NOTHING Illegal as far as the FCC goes about not using call letters on a part 15, or heck even using someone elses' call letters. At least that's what the FCC told me. Granted you may get a C&D from someone if you use their call letters and try to run your own station. But I don't believe the letters you were using were used elsewhere. (??) Simply that whoever this was who turned you in, claimed (rightly or wrongly so) that they heard something, and thus the FCC had to go investigate. For all I know, whoever it was could have made it up.

As for Carl and your comments, the FCC agent in the local office here is the one who told me about the parental unit's involvement. No cloak and dagger. I have no reason to make anything up. I just don't want everyone freaking out and blowing things out of proportion for a story that ends up like an old wives' tale or something. That's the only reason I chimed in. Take it or leave it. Your choice 🙂

I'm actually quite glad you showed up RadioChik,

heh guess folks outta think twice before using their parents house as a temporary studio location!!! (I only recently came back from Kansas ya know)

I do thouroughly apologize for this whole damn mess, I posted it all as it had been explained to me, go figure parents would over exaggerate... 😉

I always checked monthly to assure KQRO wasnt being used elsewhere, though all mentions of those calls were dropped well over a year ago.

Now heres the bright side to all of this,

the FCC has not become power hungry, there are still rules in place that they follow. Im not sure how brutal this was anymore, I dont doubt the dad, but its VERY possible he way over did the events.

So my part 15 buddies, let's all take a breather, and go back to doing what we do best, broadcast.

we can now safely write off the mighty situation as i beleive this one is solved now.

this just leaves the gaule situation now and what actually happened there to cause an agent to order gerry to cease using a supposedly certifed transmitter installed per the instruction manual and issue a nouo not only to gerry and but his complex owners as well.
