(Well aside from the obvious fact that maybe the 2.4 GHz Rf

link might be Part 15(?)  Probably????   ???

I'm not talking about a flying drone - - rather - - one that

drives on the ground.  I always wanted to make a "space like"

machine that drives on the ground.  It would pay tribute to the

wonderful spacecraft that have landed and/or drove around on Mars.

(Only I would care about this ha ha.)

Such as... Pathfinder, Viking 1, Viking 2, Sojourner, Spirit, Opportunity,

Curiosity, and all of the spacecraft that were lost, missed Mars, crashed,

failed to launch correctly, and also the wonderful machines that are orbiting

Mars, alive or no longer operating... well, you know.  This is just a Science Fair

experiment that some kid might do.  The list of Mars missions is gigantic!  And

then there are the moon "robots,",  and the many other spacecraft out there in the blackness, including the one that went by Pluto, and one that just left the solar wind region not too long ago.

I have always wanted to do this.  I mentioned a "Dog Cam" in another thread.  But

this would be a self contained machine.

I know very little about live Rf cameras to help it steer.  I know even less about cameras that record on a micro SD card.  I know this is Part 15.US, but a lot

of you guys are techs and maybe some "science person" is out there.  I will do

this eventually by myself or with assistance from somebody.  I suppose it could

be solar powered either completely or just to charge whatever batteries are there.

I once ran a C Crane FM transmitter entirely on solar power for most of a long

summer day a few years ago.  Just doing that by itself was great fun.

Well anyway - there it is.  Somebody else must be doing this somewhere.

Best Wishes

What you do is put the innards from a Radio Shack wireless toy truck into a large shoe, about size 13.

The Control Device for driving the shoe probably operates on 27 MHz or some high frequency, under Part 15.

The Mini-Cam attached to the toe of the shoe would show the scene ahead and send back video on 2.4 GHz, so you would have a TV receiver next to the Control Device or maybe glued to it.

We had a guy nearby, an adult, who drove a Radio Shack car all up and down and around the street during lulls in full-sized traffic, and I heard a whirring sound when the small car reached high velocity.

I've been in a truck that had a back-up camera and I asked my friend if he could drive backwards all the way to our meeting, but he wouldn't do it.

I want to use a mini-flying drone to chase cats and squirrels but thinking about it is easier than doing it.

- - believe it or not that is not too far off the mark.

There are lots of experimenters running radio controlled cars

with cameras on them.  Heck - the toy stores have them.  (Or

so I found out yesterday.)   I'm more interested in the science

of the thing.  I will build something eventually.

Let me know if you think of anything else.  And if

anybody else wants to chime in that's cool too.

Meanwhile, back to Part 15.

Brooce, dreaming about a future with remote controlled foot-wear may seem like a happy hobby, but as the technology matures, things could go way out hand, according to this report:

Robots Take Over Replace Humanity

Brooce, This hobby source does not have a remote controlled shoe
