This may have been posted before, but I found some interesting apps for AOIP applications.
I was looking for a replacement for Virtual Cable as the demo app inserts an annoying reminder every 10 seconds after it's been active for a couple minutes. Worse, after stopping the app the reminder is still audible. Even after un-installing the app the reminder continues until rebooting.
So the search was on and I found VB-Audio which offers a few free audio apps for a donation, although the apps are fully functional regardless.
Of interest were the VB-Cable, VB-Virtual Mixer and VB-Receptor.
VB-Cable replaced the Virtual Cable. The mixer and receptor apps form an AOIP network application. There are two virtual mixer apps; basic and advanced. Mainly just a difference in the number of inputs and one has a player built in.
Testing the mixer/receptor AOIP app is encouraging. No stutter, dropouts or glitches yet...

I purchased VAC a while ago. But lately I've been having problems with matching up sample rates with VSTHost and it's plug-ins, and am getting some stutter.
So I've reverted back to Zara 1.44 and am using the Sound Solution plug-in. I still use VAC to send audio to Edcast to generate my Internet stream.
VB Cable will allow you to add base to your mic as well as a little stereo echo as well. Its nice too if you need to boost the modulation. It takes a little resources so make sure you have at least 8GB Ram on your computer if you run Windows 7 or 8. If you have Windows 16 you'll need 12-16 GB Ram for this.
Ever since Artisan turned me on to VAC (Virtual Audio Cable) I've had it in use.
My daily programs are run on Zara 1.6.2 which drives VAC which uses LineIn Plugin Tool in a Winamp Playlist, thus opening up all the DSP Plugins for Winamp and it branches off from there.
What I'll do is put VB in place of VAC and see how that works.
Things get interesting sometimes.
