I have said on the Antenna Location Videos stuff about the lack of rain here in California.

Check out that weather blog link and see what the news is not reporting.

We are in deep poo poo here .

It has not rained in over a year . yes that is for real.

Well as far as we know it isn't H.A.A.R.P since that has been "shut down".  I think the radiation from Japans recent atomic mishap has a lot to do with the brown grass and lack of rain fall.

Maybe you should invest in some research for SPF 9000 Sunblock with added radiation deterant lol

In all seriousness i feel the East coast is getting all the moisture you should have received in Cali. I don't know, Mother Earth is unbalanced that's for sure.

it's called CLIMATE CHANGE!!!! the thing the GOP Tea party conservatives says doesn't exists but yet we are seeing very real effects of over the last 20 years.

been saying this since the 90's that we are in trouble and are destroying the planet long before the word cliamte change had ever entered the american vocabulary.

i seen this coming. whatever you beleifs GOD, Wiccan, Etc. someone is angry about what we are doing to the planet and is fighting back.

the planet as a whole is a living breathign thinking thing and that has been scientifically proven and the planet is getty angry that we are not being very good hosts and stuards of it.

When something is studied for a change one of the necessary things to have is a starting point. For example, the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation was discovered in the mid '60s and it could be concluded that it did not exist before this date. It is reasonable to assume it did but it cannot be proven. Likewise, Einstein's theories of relativity and Planck's quantum explanations demonstrated that Newton's theories of physics were not complete.

The famous ozone hole was discovered in the early '70s and caused alarm but there was no suitable baseline for comparison to conclude anything about the trend. It is now known that this hole changes cyclically.

In the '60s there was great concern about "Global Cooling" which, when the data did not support this, then became "Global Warming" and as the data are failing to support this it is now "Climate Change" which appears to be code for weird weather.

What is known is that there are multiple natural factors which affect weather and many times these effects are cyclical with varying time periods which can span decades or centuries. It is also known that the earth's ecosystem is resilient and has feedback mechanisms which tend to stabilize environmental perturbations. What appears to be lacking or at least weak is the lack of reliable baselines spanning centuries.

It is not scientifically acceptable to vote on such issues since there is no consensus in science. There is a need to further refine observations based on hypotheses until acceptable confidence in the theory is obtained. At one time the consensus was that the Earth was flat. With reasoned astronomy by many it was shown otherwise and perhaps similarly it is too early to jump to conclusions about the climate. The Mauder Minimum (low sunspot activity) was observed in the late 1600's and early 1700's and the Maunder Minimum coincided with a period of lower-than-average European temperatures. This correlation was also shown during other observed minimums. Was this climate change caused by human activity?

Weather cannot be accurately predicted more than a few days in advance so why trust the models used to predict climate out decades?

Here, there have been multiple years of extreme cold and it went away. Unusually hot periods also come and go. There have been severe droughts and they went away. Tornado frequency has waxed and waned and so on and so on.

Does anyone believe that the drought at Lefty's is permanent?

Cheer up and press on.

Neil

The way we use our mind is the mechanism of "reason," and Radio8Z talks about a world in which we "reason" based on available evidence, being "inconclusive" about things for which too little evidence is known. That's a heavy responsibility and it leaves us out of control with what's happening around us.

Much easier is the primitive system of "faith," believing in what we "feel" or "have heard" or otherwise "imagine."

Faith is simple because it requires no evidence, and in fact, evidence is considered an annoyance to the faithful. It gets in the way of emotional notions such as the one about "a divine plan" or "the earth taking vengeance."

As for me, I believe we should be kind to food animals right up until we eat them.

I'm not a Tea party type or a democrat or a republican . I agree with Neil on this one and feel that this is just another cycle that we are facing . Read the weather models , they tell a very intresting story , that just a story though.

The problem I have with the sky is falling crowed is that like Neil said , when I was a kid the world was going into an ice age , now it's going to over heat and kill us all.

With that being said I agree we are taking very bad care of our space ship and I also think we need to start to run the money scum out who are destroying everything on this planet.

As for who is in charge I agree Robert that the planet is a living thing and I also believe that it is our job to take care of it.
The reason I am so worried about California is the fact that it has not rained here in over a year.
Can you say dust bowl ?

Also I do suspect their is more to this as it is the worst drought I have ever seen in my Life.
Japans Radiation is also a concern as I eat a lot of fish , I guess I don't now :(/

As far as Global warming , the part of it that bothers me the most is people like Al Gore making millions from it.
It's people setting up trade system for carbon . When ever I see stuff like that I know that it is a money grab just like when the banks got bailed out .

I did not post this to start a dreaded political debate as my politics are from a point of view that both the left and right are evil and trying to kill all that is good with us people .
Follow the money and you will find the truth.

It's the same for the Alex Jones types as it is for the Main Stream Media.
They are in it for the money and nothing else.

Just follow the Money on the global warming deal and you will see the same trends as you see in all the other scams.

Now back to California .
If we don't get rain in here very soon , you will see fires and all hell break loose .
And when the water runs out? God only knows how this will end.
When I look at our lakes and water I see things like San Luis down to 15 feet or so . This is a Giant lake and it is near empty and this is only January.

Today it is 80 F in Santa Cruz Ca. That is not normal as we have a mega high parked over our heads and it looks as if it never going to leave .
So here we are watching and hoping for some rain.
Because if it does not come soon , 40 million people are going to be heading out of here just like the dust bowl of the 30's.

Even here on the Wet Coast (Pacific Northwest), we've had a mild and relatively dry winter.  Not to the extent being felt in California, of course, but unusual for us.  The flowers are already starting to bloom in mid January (the earliest I've seen that prior to this is mid February).  So I suspect that this is just an unusual year (being caused by what, who knows, I'm not going to get into that can of worms).

And meanwhile, the midwest and eastern parts of North America are being hammered by cold and snow.

As they are supposed to be.  It's called winter.

Northeast Ohio hasn't been too bad.  We had several days of near or below ZERO but on average a typical winter weather.  I think the problem is the last few years have been milder than normal and people get spoiled.

As for the snow and ice, again-we've had a few dumps where we got maybe 8 or 10 inches of snow but that didn't stay around too long.

Our City is setup well for handling wintery street conditions so unless we get a sustained, heavy snow, they keep the streets fairly clear.

Gettin' hammered is more of a Friday Night thing...

In the mid West and Canadian Prairies, record lows in the -40 to -50 degrees F range, including windchill.

Ice storms throughout Eastern Canada and the U.S.

The Polar Vortex reaching down to the Carolinas and Florida.

Flooding and tornadoes elsewhere.

Not my definition of winter as usual.

Well, at least you have flowers blooming to lighten the mood.

And besides, in Ohio they say if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes-it'll change.

1/22/14

We just had a big storm blow

by us.  In other words - it side

swiped us and went by.  We (me -

my wife - the kids and the dogs - are

in Hartford, CT, which is pretty

much in the middle of the state.

We got about an inch of snow.  But

SE Connecticut got about 12 inches.

Cape Cod got really clobbered with

more than 12 inches.  And it's COLD.

Zero F and below.  But for me - I've got

gear for that cold.  If it wasn't for the atmospheric

problem - - I could probably walk on MARS - at

least during the daytime in the Martian springtime.

My wife would not want to go there.  There are

no NCIS TV shows on Mars.
