It shows that the ATU was part of the certification process. No, there aren't photos or charts or graphs but, it does show the ATU was included and tested with 8 meters of coax (about 26 feet.)
This information was provided by Mr. Conover of Radio Systems.
Mr. Conover has again requested for the person that has made available PDF files of the "modified schematic" of their transmitter to cease and desist distributing said information.
I think this would be advisable as Radio Systems could bring litigation to parties involved, possibly this forum. I wouldn't want to see that as I'm sure none of us would.
Thanks !

Well it seems that post offering up the schematics has disappeared. why are you bringing this up again?
WHO is running back to radio systems claiming they are still being offered up when the post offering them up has disappeared?
i think someone needs to go back to radio systems and correct that little discrepancy and tell radio systems to consider the matter dropped?
i think if we are going to continue this ATU topic than we should stay on topic and not change the subject and bring up distractions with a matter that has resolved itself few days ago.
please post a link to christmas in august if the topic exists. i am interested in seeing the linked image, but as i stated in a previous post i have dropped the topic on my end and won't be participating in this argument but that does not mean i am not interested seeing the data if it is linked somewhere.
1. On the left side of this webpage find "Recent Posts".
2. Click on "Recent Posts".
3. Look for the image post "Christmas in August".
4. Click on that post to open it in your browser.
5. Look for the BLUE WORDS. They are in the first paragraph of Mr. Conover's email.
6. After clicking anywhere on the BLUE WORDS, the subject test data will appear.
Good Luck!
well i'm disappointed. i won't spoil it for anyone.
here is a direct link to the jpg of the so called data page
I do believe that i will be laying back for a while and not participating in these discussions anymore.
not adding anymore fuel to the fire with all this.
there is obviously something more going on here and i am not going to be one who keeps adding fuel to the fire.
i have a family i need to protect.
people reading this can interpret it any way you like, be it a warning, a statement or what have you.
i have enough headaches in my life to have any further participation in this ATU mickey mouse nonsense that is not going to result in the requested data only a round and round dog and pony show.
i am publicly done with this matter.
i am only going to say this once and one time only.
the only way we may have a chance at locating the requested data is if all interested parties go to the fcc foia page and submit a foia request for this documentation.
it may take a few different requests from different locations around the country for one to result in acquiring the requested oet data.
again i am publicly done with this matter. it's gotten on the complete path of ridiculousness. there is enough information for people to come to their own informed opinion.
keeping this ridiculous topic and all the other clones of this topic going will only result in more wasted time bandwidth and BS. time to just do the foia request or whatever other ideas of obtaining that info you may have and do it, but do it privately and if you acquire the data via a foia request then post it here, if not keeping this topic and it's clones going serves no useful purpose.
TIME TO LET THIS WHOLE MICKY MOUSE DOG AND PONY SHOW FLOAT INTO THE ARCHIVES AND OFF THE MAIN PAGE!!!!!
for those who wish to try and file a FOIA Request via the FCC for the THHII/iAM OET Doc's here id the FCC foia request webpage.
I HOPE THIS PUTS THIS MICKEY MOUSE NONSENSE TO REST ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!
after nearly a week of this nonsense i'm officially tired of it.
i hope
mram

and the other fanning the flames of this topic will follow my lead and send it to the archive abyss or maybe it is time Radio8z or JP Janze moderate these topic by locking them.
again my final word on the subject.
i'm done with it. i hope everyone else is too.
I'm not sure I fanned the flames
But I find this entire argument to be a waist and that was what I was trying to get across to everyone.
My point being we are in charge of our stations and all this stuff asking for proof of certification is not necessary .
Talking House and it's ATU is one of my choices for my station. I am not worried about FCC Certs because at the end of the day I am in charge of my station.
The point I was trying to make is that we need to work on more important things.
The Ground stuff has been going on for three years. Let's just move on and work on our Network and our future and try very hard to improve AM and FM Radio.
Sorry kc8gpd if I upset you.
But it's all cool to me if you want to move on.
Let's get back to being happy and sharing in ways to make things better.
well getting to the truth is necessary to maintain a free democracy especially where someone seems so insistent on hiding non proprietary documents that are suppose to be publicly available.
BUT THIS IT APPEARS AFTER THIS GOING ON FOR A WEEK IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
so it is time to let the matter drop as far as it is publicly concerned on these forums.
i have been here since the beginning of these forums and almost seen them get destroyed by division of the members over the ground lead issue only back then it involved the rangemaster.
i share some of the blame in keeping this mickey mouse horseshit going but i have one of those personalities that needs to get to the truth of something that does not make sense or seems to be intentional deception or coverup and have a hard time to let it go. well i will publicly let this whole matter go. i hope everyone involved in this nonsense will take my advice and privately file a FOIA request with the FCC and let this drop here in the forums.
i have provided the FCC foia request link in the topic above.
that is it.
END THIS STUFF ON THE FORUMS. THIS issue is worse than a political debate. it's worse than the current two nominated turds running form public office slinging dog feces at one another on the public idiot box!!!!!
nominated turds is 100% right!
I'm voting third party once again 🙂
The election is just a dog and pony show. No matter who gets in the end results of their term in office is the same no matter who you vote for. The fix is in.
Reminds me of that movie quiz show and the line Herbie stemple says to the wasington investigator.
21 the fix is in
Only in thos case replace 21 with the election
The banksters and ultra elites hiding in the shadows not revealing themselves are the ones really in control of our public puppets and as such our entire nation and has been since before the federal reserve act of 1913.
The fed act simply afforded these elites full control over our country and economy, etc
"It shows that the ATU was part of the certification process. No, there aren't photos or charts or graphs but, it does show the ATU was included and tested with 8 meters of coax (about 26 feet.)"
It actually doesn't show anything. It DESCRIBES that the ATU was used being fed by 8 meters of coax.
And even with that, did they elevate it 8 meters up or 1 meter up on a table fed by 8 meters of coax horizontally on the ground.
But it doesn't matter does it.
Nothing thrown up on the walls to date has answered that question.
The more time spent on diverting and distracting, the more evident there is a problem.
Keep up the good work.

Mr. Lefty Gomez said:
"My point being we are in charge of our stations and all this stuff asking for proof of certification is not necessary."
The first half of the sentence is absolutely true.
However, the second half of the sentence does not apply to all.
Since we are in charge of our station, we have good reason to ask for proof of certification.
Or, since we are in charge of our station, we could decide to ignore proof of certification.
I know all of you would like to see something which shows the ATU tested at 50 or 100 feet in the air. Unfortunately the submittal for certification does not.
Mr. Conover stated this page was part of the binder submitted. Yes, there was probably more to it but this is what I requested of him and he provided it.
Can we at least agree the posted OET data for the Talking House is what was submitted with the application for certification?
And further, the ATU was part of the package that was certified Part 15 compliant.
If so, we can agree:
1. The Talking House is a certified system by virtue of the FCC ID found on the FCC website.
2. The ATU/remote antenna can legally be used mounted directly over a ground plane per typical OET testing as the ATU was included in the submittal for certification.
3. The coax (at least 8 meters long) is allowed by virtue of the acceptance for certification as a description of the coax was included in the submittal for certification.
As the data presented on this forum regarding the Talking House and ATU is the most anyone has been able to find I would hope we can agree on the above.
I'm not dancing, I'm stating conclusions based upon what the data the FCC accepted for certification states.
The OET certification information is clear and convinces me that the ATU with up to 8-meters, somewhere around 26-feet of coax can be used within the specifications of that certification.
I thought someone said the iAM plus ATU permits 300-feet of coax. Do I remember incorrectly, or what's the story on that?
What will continue to haunt me is the newly opened can of worms about an Antenna Tuning Unit (ATU) being considered the "Final RF Stage". This leaves open a huge question which is made all the more legitimate (as a question) by having the clarified certification information.
This broader question cannot be answered by Radio Systems, but puts us face to face with the FCC.
It was stated and shown that ISS markets a system named InfoSpot.
This system is built around the iAM transmitter and ATU. They packaged the transmitter with some support equipment in one box. They place the ATU in another box and put an antenna connector on the outside of the box.
"300 feet" came into play as the information presented by ISS states the system is supplied with 25 feet of coax and can be used with up to 300 feet of coax.
When questioned, both Mr. Baker of ISS and Mr. Conover of Radio Systems stated that connecting a ground wire to the ATU ground connection could exceed the Part 15.219 antenna limit. Both stated that per the certification, the coax has no bearing on the length of the antenna.
Mr. Baker specifically said the InfoSpot ATU is mounted in an enclosure to restrict adding a separate ground wire connected to the ATU.
It was assumed the ATU could be elevated as their visual shows it up on a pole. Clearly, the OET data we have seen makes no mention of how far off the ground it can be mounted.
This alone, I believe, started this whole discussion.
Thank you for repeating things you have said before, I have not retained all the facts as they have been posted.
If I am now correctly retaining the information, the one general question remains: defining a final RF stage.
Perhaps there are two different definitions of "final RF stage", each one unique to its application.
But perhaps not.
Or, maybe there is.
