Hey guys,
I came apon this youtube video about a guys setup and was wondering what yall thought of his opinions. Would I really benefit from adding a 32 band eq? To me what he says about it makes sense, but what do I know lol 🙂

For Part 15 over the air AM transmission, my opinion is that it's overkill. AM is not high fidelity in the first place. Plus once you start getting any sort of distance from your transmitter, noise will creep in, kind of offsetting any gains in quality you might get from the equalizer.
If you're streaming over the Internet at high bit rates, then it might make some sense.
The only useful application for a 32-band EQ is to tune a loudspeaker so that it performs with uniform response in am indoor space, but even that is somewhat pointless as the acoustics of a room vary as you move around.
For AM it is helpful to be able to roll-off the top end to remain within the 10kHz bandwidth, possibly pre-emphasize the highs from 1kHz up to about 8kHz, which is a selectable choise built into SSTran AMT3000 & 5000.
3-band equalizers have been used for AM.
All other improvements are based on compression and limiting, not EQing.
