This is not new data, but very simple for those want to have constant monitoring capabilities for the Rangemaster.
Here's how it works:
This is not new data, but very simple for those want to have constant monitoring capabilities for the Rangemaster.
Here's how it works:
You need shielded 4 conductor cable. Ground at one end only.
Two DC Voltage meters with a 15 volt range. Radioshack model:Model: 22-410 | Catalog #: 22-410 (12.95 ea)
One project box from Rat Shack: Model: 270-1809 | Catalog #: 270-1809 (8 bucks)
Label one meter Current and keeping track of the color of the wires attach to the meter and the solder the far end to the appropriate locations on the Rangemaster as per the instructions.

Repeat the process for the other meter.
Feed the cable thru the unused feed-thru at the bottom of the transmitter.
You will have a nice looking setup that that will monitor current and voltage assuring compliance with FCC Rules.
The cost will be about 20 dollars not counting the cable.
Hope this helps.
Thanks-Looks like something useful within my capabilities.
Be sure to install R.F. chokes on the line coming from the X-mtr and at the meters. The TX power on the wiring to the meters will give you false readings, especially with inexpensive VOM meters. I found this out trying to tune my Rangemaster with a cheap meter.
