Now has anyone just taken a good field strength meter to see if which of the two has the stronger field strength...Since who ever has the stronger field strength will get out better and further.
Anyway, that will show who has the more effiecent cicuit as far as antenna matching goes.
Anyways I thought if someone couls just take a field strength reading then everyone would know who getting more RF signal coming off the Antenna.

There is some question as to what such a test would actually measure. The reason is that ultra low power transmitters develop the maximum field strength when part of a well tuned system including any matching coil, antenna radiator, ground connections and quality of soil, modulating audio and the effects of a variety of enviroinmental factors.
The likelyhood of being able to create testing conditions that result in an apples-to-apples comparison just would not seem to be worth the effort.
It's not really "Ford vs Chevy." Most of the transmitters available now are pretty darn good and you generally get what you pay for. The best test is the one you conduct in your own back yard with whatever you choose to use. Few of us have had only one transmitter, sound source or location.
Example - I've operated seven different transmitters in five different cities getting audio from just about every source imaginable and some beyond imagining. The budget units are pocket change and the top of the line units aren't that expensive in the world of hobbies.
It really doesn't seem to me to matter at all which transmitter you choose. The real fun is putting fire to the wire and then coming back here and telling us how it went.

the only way to do it is to take a test platform. a static pole and ground system and some static test point laid out. put the range master on said pole ground system and set up per instructions. take fim readings with an am fim. make note of your exact test points positions.
after testing the rangemaster remove it from the pole and mount the chez in it's place. take the fim readings from the same points as you did with the rangemaster.
compare readings from the tx's.
about as close to a scientific and fair a test as you can get.
note this all needs to be done during the day on the same day so that conditions don't change much between tests.
