Question on live broadcast (with SAM2/3)

Hi,
Here is my situation.. what would be the best way to accomplish this with SAM2 (or 3 if I need to upgrade and it would make it easier)..

I have a Church service that I am trying to broadcast live. The problem is it doesn't start right at say 11:30.. it will vary +- 5 minutes depending on how things run. What are my options (other then having a manned computer at the station) for getting SAM2/3 to automagically start streaming from the LINE IN port on the computer at the start of the service, and then going back to regular programming at the end of the service?

I'm open to other software as well.... that would allow this to happen.

actually - id just be interested in how you got LINE IN working lol.

I'd like to plug my console into SAM2 so that I can use my real MIC and use CD's and records to broadcast ...

It really wasn't that hard... you give it a command something like:

Add URL -->

mic://?duration=01:00:00

This will record from the mic for exactly one hour

I think you can also do line://

hehe =) Does anyone know of any software that will monitor an audio stream for a tone and then do something? I know there is switching hardware, but it's all very expensive... I wouldn't think it would be that hard to write a program to listen for a tone in the audio stream... but of course I don't know how to do it ๐Ÿ™‚

This reminds me of an incident a few years ago. My Bearcat weather receiver kept getting opened on a Sunday afternoon for no reason. Eventually, I heard a sax player holding a certain note (whatever 1050 Hz is -- B above middle C?), which opened the receiver's squelch. He was at a gig a mile away and their wireless system in the FM broadcast band had a strong second harmonic. ๐Ÿ˜€
