The purpose of this site is to encourage and enable legal license free Part 15 hobby activities. That being said, does this mean that all posts have to be pertinent to the subject of hobby radio? Perhaps the answer is a qualified no.
Many forums dedicated to an endeavor have a "General Discussion" or "Lounge" section where general questions and comments are allowed and so does this site. The format situation here is that almost all posts, regardless of the section in which they appear, also appear in the Recent Posts and the Active Forum Topics and New Forum Topics summaries on the front page. These unsorted displays can give the impression of a lack of organization but are useful for those who want to keep up with the topics being posted.
There are Forum Guidelines which address the use of this site. Though not specifically mentioned, posting topics which are not specific to Part15 radio should be considered by the poster as to whether they are appropriate. Ask "Is it of interest?" or "Will anyone care?" Posts with content which can be considered trivial, trite, or in poor taste should not be made here.
Most posts which appear on this site are not reviewed before they appear so it is possible that inappropriate content may be seen. We rely on the judgement of our posting members to minimize this.
We want to keep this site as one in which a minimum of moderator action is needed while allowing users reasonable freedom for posting.
Neil
