Some are probably wondering why I posted the "Rules for Posting" and I will try to explain. First, for those who don't know, I have been a moderator at this site for many years. We have two other moderators and the site owner, Jon Paul Janze, who also "mind the store".
This last week there were two threads which were deleted because of some of the reasons I will mention.
We want to provide an open forum to encourage and support Part 15 broadcasting but experience has shown that we cannot take an "anything goes" approach and maintain a positive and respected forum. What we need to do is take a "lightly moderated" approach and if your post gets "modded" don't take offense but think about why this might have happened. Please do not discuss moderator actions on the forum. You are always welcome to use the CONTACT feature under NAVIGATION to express your concerns.
Visiting this forum should be a positive experience for all. Being positive means not being negative.
There have been several posts and threads which mention the HobbyBroadcaster site and Bill DeFelice in a critical manner. It is OK to mention HB and Bill as references in support of a discussion or project but do so with no opinions whatsoever. If you have issues with them then take it to them.
We don't want to see disparaging remarks about our members or any other site. This does not mean that you cannot disagree with what is posted by another member but leave personal remarks out of the discussion. Simply state your case and be respectful and try to avoid arguing.
Before posting in a thread ask if your post belongs there. Many times interjected comments pull the thread off topic and make it difficult to read. Start a new thread if you want and you can make reference to the other thread if needed.
Many of us know one another well through this forum and there is a sense of community and casual conversation is good but bear in mind that everything we post is public. Inside jokes and off the cuff remarks can be a put off to new members and those reading the forum so use good judgement regarding this.
Here's some advice borrowed from another forum..."Think before you post."
Part15us is a great site, let's make it even better.
Neil
