Anyone else having problems with their weather feed from Pirate Weather?
Alternatives that work the same way?
It ran fine here just a few minutes ago.
Its working fine here as well. I had problems a while back, solved it by changing the zip code as our area has many. If you report it to him,he is pretty good at responding. Regards,Lee
I'll check the alternate zip code and see what happens. If it's broke too, I'll contact them.
Thanks!
EDIT: Alternate zip worked. Go figure
I have been having problems here for a few days - very slow or no response to the wget. Changing zip codes helped some, but even the files I get back are sometimes corrupted. Aside from these past few days it has been flawless - and can't complain about the price!
Anyone know of any alternatives or backup?
Once in a while with Pirateweather the audio will stumble or repeat a section, once in a while it just won't load, but I'd say better than 90% of the time it's good. It works well enough for my use.
Now for an alternate or backup, there's the standard weather watcher thing for Zara some people talk about.. Would that work, or is it just good for temperature?

WW is temp and humidity. But the output has all the basics. Hmm, text to speech?
Must, play, while, idea, is, burning, in, my, head...
Does anyone have a good webserver with a fair amount of alloted bandwidth?
I'd set it up but I'm pushing my limits monthly now as far as bandwidth goes.
Hamweather provides all of what I think we'd all love to have including a text to speech engine to support audio weather podcasts! ๐
