Ermi Roos
MLR
he got tired of our resident hobby agent and moved on
but what happened to Ermi Roos?
I remember one person saying that
the Part 15 experiments we were all
trying, i.e., attempting to get max range with
a 3 meter antenna, 100 mW input, etc - -
were more easily done on the 160 ham band.
The reason given was that one did not have to
worry about rule violations if they went over the
line - - whatever that line was thought to be at
the time. It all was probably the result of some
discussion. For those who are not familiar -
the 160 meter ham radio band runs from
1800 to 2000 kHz - not far at all from the
top of the AM BCB. (To experiment there,
one would have to posess the appropriate
ham radio license, of course.)
So anyway - - it MIGHT have been Ermi who
said this shortly before he departed.
I don't know for sure.
Best wishes,

Ermi was posting over at Hobbybroadcaster until early this year, and then stopped.
Can you think of a better name for a
Part 15 AM station in the "W-callsign-
section-of-the-U.S.?
I don't even remember his name or if he
even told us what it was.
He was a really nice guy.
