Listen guys, I am not here because anyone told me to.

But one thing bothers me to the point I have to say something.

Before anyone points fingers and I hope no one does, because I am a neutral party here, not claiming one site better over the other. But what really bothers me is we are supposed to be the supporters of a hobby, the right to broadcast our ideas over public broadcast frequencies.

We also have a right to free speech, on both broadcast media and websites in general. However, what bothers me greatly is how supporters of part 15 can sit and post negative opinions about other people.

I am a member of several websites related to public, over the air radio broadcasting and it troubles me so to see fellow hobbyists slandering and bad mouthing each other and I am not pointing any fingers here or there, but if you want to attack someone one way or the other, you can't condemn that person for responding back. But I see members doing just that and that is sad.

I do not know the history behind this childish 'War of the Websites'. But seeing what I see, really disgusts me.

If I am banned form any site for saying what I just said, so be it, but as an adult with an interest in what ANY website can provide me with, which is an educational and informational information related to my hobby, I can NOT agree with the demeanor of some people to spend countless hours posting anti this or anti that.

Each website related to the hobby of part 15 broadcasting, has offered me information on how to keep my hobby legal and enjoyable!

If you want to be constructive here, or anywhere, complain about the NAB and their ridiculous rule making against part 15 broadcasting. Many part 15 stations deserve to be heard, not muted by money hungry people who offer nothing but crap radio entertainment in the LICENSED commercial radio industry.

I personally want to say, I would not even want to waste my money on a part 15 related website, because I do not want to be a part of this slanderous on-going escapade of hobbyists saying negative things about anything I might offer my readers as in regard to part 15 radio broadcasting.

Of all the sites I visit, I truthfully have to say, that aside of the website bashing, all part 15 related websites offer an education and one is NOT better than the other!

Instead of wasting valuable energy on negativity, why not recognize that part 15 radio depends on all of us, to be a successful hobby. If people see this CB radio kind of banter in part 15 radio, when doing Google searches, they will surely decide this hobby is just for KIDS and look for other interests.

Just my opinion and no, no one sent me here sticking up for anyone, as I never mentioned any names or websites by name, but we need to grow up and show everyone part 15 hobbyists are adults not kids in preschool.

Bruce.

Note:Excuse any typos, spell check does not work on this site.

[Moderator note to Bruce...Sorry for the delay in getting your post on the forum. The spam catcher blocked it and I have been away for a while and just found it today.]

What MrBruce says is important at this stage in the life of the two Part 15 websites.

MrBruce said, "I do not know the history behind this childish 'War of the Websites."

For those of us who do know the history can we so easily set it aside and overlook our disgruntled viewpoints?

To begin anew, to let "bygones be bygones," to open a "save-face" policy going forward, has a special word...

Magnanimity : loftiness of spirit enabling one to bear trouble calmly, to disdain meanness and revenge, and to make sacrifices for worthy ends.

Are we prepared to be magnanimous?

Part 15 broadcasting is certainly a "worthy end."

Well MrBruce (and Carl), I'm not quite prepared to be so magnanimous.  If that makes me 'childish' in your eyes, it doesn't particularly bother me.

I do agree that ALL Part 15 sites can and should be educational.  But when the other stuff, such as ego and political bs intrudes, it affects the educational value, and renders whatever information that is available at the very least suspect.  Science and engineering is supposed to be free of that crap.

It bothered me when members at that other site, led by the owner and moderator, reacted to criticism and suggestions directed towards their AM transmitter comparison with personal attacks and insults.  They refused to believe that anything that they did could possibly need improvement.  As a result, I really viewed the results of that comparison with some suspicion.

It bothered me even more when those personal attacks and insults spilled over into other Forums, led by several of the moderator's supporters.  When confronted, they fled back to their home base.  It really was over the top, and it made me ask - why?  Why, if they are confident with the results, are they so defensive?

And now they want to make their so-called public Forum private.  If they were open and honest about their intentions, that would be fine (it's their Forum and they can do what they want) - instead, they use the somewhat laughable excuse of hordes of computers infested with malware attepting to infiltrate their website.  Perhaps they believe (or more importantly, thinks that everyone else believes) that they're experts on computer security as well as radio broadcasting.  It's pretty obvious that they just don't want to listen to any other voices than their own, and they don't want anyone else to 'steal' their ideas and posts (they reacted particularly poorly to a parallel discussion here on MDCL).

I'm not going to sit here and state that everything I do is right.  I make mistakes, and can be opinionated.  But at least I'm willing to listen to other opinions and potentially change mine.  I'm also willing to enter into debates and discussions with respect, as long as that respect is two way.  However, based on how those guys over there have responded to both myself and others here, there is no respect coming the other way (just go back and read some of their responses, instead of focusing on what is happening here).

So, I've lost all respect for those guys.  If they are unwilling to change, they can keep their closed Forum and their biased opinions to themselves, and everyone else in the hobby of Part 15 will be better off.  It's really too bad, because it's obvious that they do have experience and knowledge in this area - their egos just get in the way.

If they demonstrated that they were willing to park their egos at the door, and discuss differences of opinion respectfully, then I would be more than willing to change my views on the subject, and be magnanimous.

what did it for me with him is his supposedly to be a free open (transparent) information site for the part 15 world but he hordes the information and puts most of the goood stuff that people might actually benefit from behind a wall that only a cetain chosen few can access. even many of his own members (who he hasn't bumped up to titanium forum membership) isn't able to access the documents. that is my main gripe.

that is not the actions of an honest man then he proceeds to ban me from his site for sharing (Er: stealing he calls it) information between the two sites.

not the actions of an open and honest webmaster by far. and he has suckered hundreds maybe thousands into drinking the kool aide.
but as i stated earlier i have a few spies in his midst who have seen through the BS of his and they report back to me with screen captures of what gets said in his private "one to one" lounge as well as forwarding me the documents he hides behind his wall.so not everyone there has drunk the kool aide and are double agents. let him pull his hair out trying to figure out which one(s) of his disciples are double agents and how it is i know the existance of his private "One To One" lounge.

but ya know what. i know i started this topic but i'm leaving on the final note posted here.

i'm done with this topic and have said what needs to be stated and it can only go round in circles (beating a dead horse) fromt this point on.

and i am with AR on his opinion as well i tried to extend an olive branch and bury the hatchet with Bill and he tossed it back in my face.

Although I posed the notion of "magnanimity," I am not magnanimous and not sure it's as noble as some portray it to be. It might be a political expedient, but if nothing else, it's a rich topic for a dinner discussion with friends.

I actually knew a man who was magnanimous. His wife was cheating on him, several of his children weren't his (no-one ever figured out how many other fathers there were), and his wife doled out his earnings to her lazy children because they didn't like working.

In a conversation with the man he took a very lofty view of the whole thing. He knew everything they were doing, but simply said, "They deserve to be happy too."

I actually used the word "magnanimous" in describing him. But I never understood it. His survivors are still petty, piddling, thieving lower-animals and his generousity never registered with them.

That's the way it will be with the hobby snobbers who acused Robert of "stealing" by sharing information from their public site, but once acused me of "not giving credit" when I happened to link to something that they had co-incidentally linked.

People unable to socialize in a civilized way are low power people.
