What is even more interesting is rather or not it would be legal there an how much power are you allowed. But since it's the military I'm sure they could put up a 10 Watt AM Transmitter and nothing would happen. But maybe they still have to follow part 15 rules. Probably a Procaster would be the best choice as it has an audio processor built right in. You could set up a sort of fold up or push up antenna system with it.

i'm interested to see how this one plays out. first thing he needs to do is check with chain of command and the base commander. the military doesn't like uncoordinated transmitters or uncotrolled uncoded content that an enemy could make use of. the military had a massive coronary few years back when soldiers were bringing MURS and FRS HT's on deployment and using them for communication.

How would  a US soldier in Afganistan have the time or place to have a transmitter and computer to run a radio station?

Isn't Afganistan run by terrorists....Al quaida?

Wouldn't think there are laws about AM transmitters there.

Afghanistan has something of a government and may have their own broadcasting rules.

What is our relationship over there? Originally I recall the G.W.Bush Made-Up-Story Department claimed we were tracking Osama Bin Laden into Afghanistan.

Then the media started talking about our "war with Afghanistan."

Finally I heard that we are there to protect the poppy industry to make sure the world has enough heroin.

Does anyone know anything factual or do we live in a state of uncertainty(?)
