If you have 4 people join an effort, then you likely have 4 opinions. If you have 20, then you likely have 20 opinions.
Not necessarily bad, but how do you choose what to do? From the person that shouts the loudest? The person that talks the longest and wears everybody down? The person or organization with the best credentials?
Good luck with it. From what I see, it's still going around and around. And it will continue to do so, with brand new opinions as more come in. Until you get a process for decision-making, and buy-in from the group on that process.
In the old days RFB was a regular here on this site, but he was hired away by a major broadcast group and put in charge of a batch of AM FM stations all over his home state.
As a lasting contribution to the Part 15 hobby, RFB appeared on three editions of the Low Power Hour delivering an in depth "How To Radio Coarse" on the subject of Carrier Current AM.

Although it may seem like these initives are going round and round and going no where, there has to be a beginning, no matter how it starts, it has to get to that point.
I see it has reached to that point. No, there is nothing wrong with 20 people and 20 opinions, some people may see eye to eye, some may see it differently, some may agree on 1 out of 4 opinions and so on.
Every attempt to get a rule or law changed has been run through the same process, no two people will agree on everything. That does not to mean instant failure.
I am not going to recite history here related to non part 15 related movements, because it will only serve to bring this topic terribly off topic.
Keeping it brief, many changes that have been made in our history, are changes no one ever thought would be possible. But because, someone took the time to create an idea and passed it onto another person, then on to a larger group, it eventually received so much public interaction, people started to interact with it. Yes, there is the pros and cons and that is to be expected because some people have a hard time accepting change.
You are going to have the supporters and the non-supporters, the ones who will disagree and the ones who will agree.
The fact that these proposals are out there, is a start, you have to expect a lot of negativity until everyone reaches a fair agreement on all counts.
People may not support the proposals because of the way things are stated or worded, but very well could agree if things were worded differently and more professionally so those who are professionals might agree that the proposal writers know what they are talking about and make MANY VALID points that they can agree on without question.
I do not see anything wrong with several initives being published or in the works, because at some point, either one or the other will produce the best results, or all of the initives can group together and create a stronger voice when that voice is needed.
I say the more the better, because each one will drag in its own group of people and then you have that many people interested in the changes being asked for as a whole.
Lets not allow division to take place here saying one is better than the other, it is best to join each other's initive to show its not all about YOUR way or the highway, joining another's group shows no matter what, you are working with an open mind and can agree with another individual's ideas even if you do not agree 100%, because their idea might be just the one that gets accepted when the final decision making is done.
There is no "I" in "Teamwork" "I" is a lonely word, "we" has more strength in numbers.

well the petition forum is also a archive where i put interesting things about part 15 radio from around the web as a way to preserve them. kind of like the internet archive for part 15 radio. so even if the petiton goes no where it still can be a great part 15 reference resource in tandem with the disucssions that go on here.
Part 15 Engineer What ever you do, keep your head up high and keep on doing what you are doing, because, good things come from feeling positive and confident.
Same goes for TheLegacy or anyone else out there who is looking for change.
I am a member at both initiative sites, I have not yet posted or created a topic as of yet because I do not feel I have anything constructive to offer at the moment. But I will when I feel I have something important to offer to the group.
No, I am not going to create a bitch post in those forums about my sad experience with WXTZ and you know who and what they did to me and my station, that is counter productive to any initiative business. I bet I hear a bunch of AMENS out there to that statement. Am I right about that??????? I thought so. (WINK)
