Need help. Can any of you fellows tell me how to load MP3 files from CD's into the libraries of Windows Media and/or RealOne Players? Many thanks, Jim B
You need a program like CDex to convert the CD files to MP3's. CDex is GNU software and is available from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdexos
There are other programs around besides CDex. Audiograbber is one.

Yep, CDex will do the trick, once you have the MP3 files, it's always important to kep good ID3 tags. It's the file infor where you list the artist, track name, album, year, and genre.
I have seen a couple of automation programs that can sort by genre and this comesin handy if say you want to do a rock hour, or a pop hour. The program names escapes me at the moment, however the ID3 tags done properly makes everything easier.

Fellows, I think you misunderstand me here. I already have MP3 files burned on CD's, things I made and old time radio shows, and I want to install these MP3 files from the CD's to the windows media and real one libraries, in other words install them in the libraries on another computer. I already have software to make MP3 files of audio CD's. Now, if I'm misunderstanding you please let me know, and if not, help me to do what I'm trying to do if it's possible.
Just copy them from the cd(s) to My DocumentsMy Music. Each program has a search that will let you add new files to your library.
Hope that helps.
Frank
Pop in the CD
Double Click the MY COMPUTER icon
Right Click on the CD ROm drive where the Cd is located
and select "EXPLORE"
Click on the EDIT tab and select "SELECT ALL"
Over one of the MP3 files, Press your RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON do not "click" it.
Drag them to "My Documents/My Music" file folder.
The Mp3's will copy over..........all done.
