I just snagged an old TFT AM mod monitor on eBay. It's an early 80's Model 753 with the Model 755 frequency agile tuner incorporated as part of the box. (And yeah, I know. RIP TFT!)
It appears to work, but it also appears to need some kind of RF amp ahead of it to pick up my humble Part 15 station.
Any ideas on something not to pricey that would work for me? Thanks in advance!
In order to specify an amplifier for this it is necessary to know some technical information about the monitor.
What is the input impedance?
What is the minimum signal level required for operation?
Is this to be directly connected to the transmitter or pick up the on air signal?
If you know and can post answers then maybe we can go from there.
Neil
Thanks, Rich and Rob! RF input needs 1-10V, and the input impedance is 50 ohms. I won't be directly connecting this to the xmtr.
