Welcome to autumn with Low Power Hour No. 79, titled "Come and Gone Part 1," examining three radio personality departures from radio for three different reasons.
One of them decided to walk away from a life-ling radio career, the second is "M.I.A.", missing-in-action and stopped doing programs without explanation, and the third died, leaving a rich legacy of unusual programs.
Low Power In the News visits a recent Meeting of the ALPB to see what topic is being discussed, FCC rule changes announced for T.I.S. per theradiosource.com, and Dogradio Bruce reports a 1-Watt licensed station in Georgia and a Detroit station that won't stay tuned.
Check it out! The LPH is not just
about low power radio. Sometimes
there are very interesting items about
licensed broadcast radio, and ... cooking?
It's great to listen to late at night when
nobody is around. You can sit and sort
of take it in.
By the way Carl - when you first mentioned
the great WCCO (I think the first or second
AM BCB DX I ever heard - either that or WJR)
I thought you said WWCO, which is on 1240 kHz
here in Connecticut.
Anyway - interesting info and sometmes very
funny.
But, Carl - I only have 5 chickens in my wallet!
Is that OK?
Bruce, DOGRADIO
If you throw in the wallet that will be fine.
Carl, you're a genius!
Bruce, DOGRADIO
We should get a second opinion.
I'll second.
Well, if I am a genius,
WHAT DO I GET?
a lot of lazy people asking you to solve all their stupid problems.
Mr. mir, I am quite good with stupid problems.
its why i keep asking them ๐
If you haven't heard it - well (I
know YOU did Carl) it's worth
hearing. There's some great
humor in the beginning (Thank You
Phloatilla) and a great interview
about TIS Radio. The interview contains
a lot of info I did not know about.
#78 is worth hearing!
Bruce, DOGRADIO
