MRAM 1500 has been broadcasting live school sports on WCFI-LP, Tim in Bovey is affiliated with broadcasting Minnesota Roller Derby Skating, Ken Norris provides a lot of girls and boys redional basketball on Friday Harbor Tiny Radio, to name a few live event radio happenings.
At one ALPB meeting we talked about play-by-play coverage of Spider Solitaire, the most popular computer game in America, and right now my own assistant, Flotilla DeGlued, is on a 20-game winning streak, believing as she does that she's playing against Bill Gates at his work station in Redmond, Washington.
This all gets me to wondering if Pokemon Go lends itself to live broadcast action, not really knowing much about what takes place during this game and hoping no one tries to explain it to me.
The most I do is an occasional traffic report on the park lane outside the Internet Building, where only yesterday a white car passed by.
For the small station it might be good to send a pedestrian report... the people walking their dogs or passing by... MORGAN FORD: The woman is walking east at a brisk speed carrying a paper bag; CARL BLARE: Wonder what she has in the bag?; HEROLD REVULSO: Judging from the size of the bag it could be a sandwich.
For a while now, i have been wanting to do a morning show and it would be fun ...butfor the most part my commentary , if there is any, would be of how horrible my neighborhood has turned out to really be. If you all recall, i have said this forum, on teamspeak and past Little Things Shows that i have a few neighbors i actually like.
We now have been here 4 years , Stephanie and I have come to the conclusion that we just don't really like any of our neighbors. Believe me we have tried, but to no avail.
If it's not drugs, it's religion being spewed from an old preacher who get's into arguments with his grown son that likes to drink, kids being brought up around this garbage are hauled off in church buses to cover the truth that their parents have failed to raise them with morales. Several animals have come up missing including our beloved cat Taco, two neighbors are pointing fingers at each other saying their kid killed several animals here.
So what would i talk about during a live show? I want to talk about the corruption around me, is that a good idea? No probably not, just this evening we heard three very close gun shots and the losers across the road freaking out and yelling something frantically. We went back inside, so if i were to have any commentary at all, it would have to involve the city of Hazard and Perry County in general.
Much as I would love to blast these bozo's with a good dose of Wake The F@#* Up!
I must refrain from telling it like it is for my families safety.
So what does one do when their station is in enemy territory? Propaganda reports??
Several neighborhoods I lived in had monster neighbors. It can get strange.
There was a lady doctor who was "above us all" in class and status and she let us know every chance she got. I'd never trust her with the life of another human being.
There are, probably all too commonly in Merika (America), religious zealots who try to establish a facist control over "less holy folks".
Children who are glorious angels with their parents but total low lifes and dangerous with everyone else.
Pet intrusions that cause harm and sometimes medical emergencies.
Good thing I don't get started talking about it.
I've also been assisting an Italian group on Sundays from 12 to 2 PM with a live broadcast from the WCFI-LP studio at my office.
Glad you reminded me about the sportscasting we did last year. It's time to contact the school rep to see when we start that again.
We had a couple live shows lined up but politics got in the way and they were canceled.
