America demands increasing the AM band to 1710.

It would make sense.  If I were to have to move closer to VA I would be forced to move to AM for part 15 (Ick).  But 1710 would be awesome for part 15 AM as no one is on there.  Of course most of my listeners would have to buy a Tecsun digital AM Radio if they would want to listen in the house because I have not found a boom box with a decent AM receiver. Then I bet I could reach 1/4 mile with a talking house AM transmitter on a 10 foot piece of wire it comes with.  Pretty cool.  Also there needs to be less hum with that transmitter however.  Many report that hum issue.

Yup in the part 15 bible section 219 the high frequency is 1705 Khz.  So again part 15 gets screwed.

Somewhere out there is a 'DXER' page that shows many dozens of stations that have been heard on 1710, and I guess they're wanna-be part 15 stations or pirates, it's a log book. I was really surprised to see that, but in the car on open roads you can hear a low rumble on 1710 overnight, like many stations are piled on there.

How about making the MW band go up to 1800 instead. The only thing that seems to be above 1710 are young radio stations testing.

1800 is the low end of the 160 meter amateur radio band.
