Hey guys,

looking for a flow diagram of your setups especially with the Inovonics 222AM Preemphasis/Lowpass Audio Processor in the mix I am using a CPU playing Wav and Mp3 that feed a Behringer Autocom PRO-XL MDX1600 Interactive Reference 2-Channel Expander Gate then the Inovonics 222AM then a mixing board to an audio cable to a talking house, which will be replaced soon God willing with a Range master ....

since the Inovonics 222AM doesn't have xlr or 1/4 jacks what's your connection combo from the Inovonics 222AM out..?

Joe

You hard wire as indicated on teh rear. The 222 can be strapped internally for -10 or +4.

Although it might be obvious, I strongly recommend tuning up the Rangemaster manually (using the indicated test points) as opposed to relying on the tuning module (that glows green - supposedly - when you're tuned).  Manually, you can get 100% of that 100mw input to the final stage, and there's no way you can get that accuracy with the tuning light.  Every 1% matters when you're dealing with milliwatts.

The 222 should be the absolute last thing in the airchain. Connections are easy enough, in my case I just cut an XLR cable off on one end so I could do the terminal connections. (Back when I was just using a compellor and 222)

My airchain is as follows: Computer=>Mixer/Console=>Aphex Compellor=>Audimax=>Orban Optimod=>Inovonics 222=>Transmitter

Extremely important settings to note:

The 222 likes to be fed at -2, no more and no less. Optimal performance is achieved by keeping the -2 LED lit with occasional flicks to each side. There is an internal switch that will allow the 222 to be fed by pro-gear or consumer gear, make sure the appropriate settings match your setup. For use with the Rangemaster, tie the 222 GND to neutral on the output or it will not work.
