Hey all- I need to get my audio from my studio to WBCQ's zara radio automation to go live this coming saturday at 5pm on 5130kHz.

I figured I could use teamspeak and WBCQ's board op said it's fine. I need to get the audio on my teamspeak embeded into zara radio- maybe using their add internet stream.

I need help figuring it out- or if you have a better idea on how to get my audio to WBCQ- go for it!

Thanks

Now that I've been thinking about this, why would you want to use Teamspeak for relaying your live show to WBCQ? That seems like a kludgey way of doing it.

For example, if you're on the ALPB Teamspeak I could log on and speak over your audio! That's a risky deal.

Just use an audio streaming encoder/server combination to stream from your own computer.

Mark the encoder for "private" so it doesn't show up on any directories which could load you down with internet listeners that might derail the WBCQ stream stability.

BUTT or several other streaming softwares are out there for free.

You are going to need to encode an mp3 stream for Zara, whether that be shoutcast or icecast. Teamspeak cannot be linked to Zara.

The TeamSpeak server has two rooms set aside for STL use.  One is reserved for my LPFM station live remotes.  The other was set up for ALPB members to use as needed.

The STL rooms are passworded and are restricted to 3 occupants.  This allows the user, the transmitter site and a monitor site if needed.

The STL rooms utilize a higher bit rate for music quality streaming.

If WBCQ were to install the TeamSpeak app ATrain could STL in that way.  One advantage to using TeamSpeak is much lower latency compared to the buffering of Shoutcast and other Web streaming apps.

As it is, ATrain will have to figure his start time on an elusive amount of buffering which can run up to a minute sometimes.

Using Shoutcast and a hosting service, I would suggest he start his stream at least a minute before the scheduled time with bumper music and then work into the show with his voice over at the scheduled time.  Hopefully that would eliminate missing the opening of his show.  So the show would start with some music instead of starting with him already talking.

Ending the show is tricky too.  If he talks up to the scheduled end time he'll be cut-off as the stream will be late.  He'll have to finish his voice over probably at least a minute before the scheduled end time and let the bumper music run out.  I think that's right...
