The day started here in the Internet Building at 4 AM CDT during a peaceful rain. We organized a few things in preparation for the broadcast day due to start at 9:30 AM.
When daylight arrived at 6 AM there was plenty of time for a dreamy nap.
We awoke and noted that there was ten minutes in which to get KDX signed on and started for the day. All went well.
Until we noticed we were one hour ahead of schedule.
Because of this and other mixups I've been put on suspension for a year.
Here at radio8z AM no broadcast schedule is kept, rather air time and programming happens when the mood is right. Therefore, the audience served is that which also does not adhere to a schedule but takes its chances that the station is on. Keeps things simple this way and lessens the chance that I will be fired.

This proves that us station operators are the toughest el jeffe out there.
All during my professional career I thought I could be a better manager than any manager I ever worked for, even though a few were not too bad.
Now that I own my own group of radio stations I am manager of all the stations and am not nearly as good as any of the managers I worked for.
Sure, I put myself on suspension Monday, that was an attempt to recover my management footing.
Now it's Thursday and I've already mucked up again by forgetting the small detail of starting our stream this morning.
The only thing that saved me this time is Radio8Z's Post #2 about how he programs based on mood. I understand.
So, I turned to myself and said, "No hard feelings?"
Have to admit, that in all the years we've been on the air (which has been over 40 years now) we've only had one resignation of a volunteer over a disagreement. Not a bad track record if I don't say so myself. We currently operate with a staff of 17 volunteers.
