Someday everyone will have his/her own Part 15 radio station, the power wasting large stations will go home where all their former employees will operate personal radio stations.
The FCC will one day exist mainly to serve the several million Part 15 radio stations of tomorrow.
COMING SOON - A Shortwave (SW) Big Dial!
What about the LW part 15 frequencies (160-190 kHz)?
Carl I'd like to see this as a reality. I think AM is trying to make a big come back. A couple of days ago I noticed the band was WIDE OPEN around 4 AM and I heard on 1700 Khz a station that sounded Russian where it sounded like the spokesperson was talking into a telephone. It was very clear and so was a station on 1630, 1640 Khz. Part 15 may have a run for its money soon even on AM as it seems like things are lighting up on AM at night time. If I get this transmitter running with a good antenna I probably won't even try and operate at night on 1630 Khz. May shut down after 7-8PM and use FM at night. At least it would allow me to get more listeners in the 1-2 mile radios once things are finished with the antenna. Plus I'm not so afraid to advertise the AM side locally as I am with the gray areas of FM as it is now. I just don't need to have the folks at Clear Channel or Cumulus Radio group after me. I do know a lot of the stations here in Elizabeth City, NC are ran by North East Carolina Radio group. The Shark is ran by that and I think 104.9 is as well. The Fox 196.9 I do believe is Clear Channel and is in VA. Their contour does serve Elizabeth City so I don't know how they would feel about an Album Rock station like mine competing with them. Bob FM may be another station that would see me as a threat too.
Now there are three BIG DIALS, covering AM, FM, Long Wave and Shortwave.
More links, more stations.

While I appreciate your desire to throw off the 1710 kc dogs, I am officially giving you permission to post my location as Dade City, FL. USA, Planet Earth, Milky Way Galaxy
Carl feel free to pull the listings from the Map. The stations should be up to date.
Retro Radio KDSX also operates an FM on 100.1 in Ector, TX as well as plans for an AM on 1590.
KDSX-AM-FM-SW and soon to be heard on WBCQ 9330.
Mighty 1650 going on WBCQ The Planet International Shortwave from Monticello, Maine, is one of the smartest deals in radio today. Global audience, reasonable price.
Retro Radio's AM-FM-SW dial settings are now up.
I will be browsing the Part 15 Map of America for other stations to add to the BIG DIAL.
Thank you to everyone for contributing.

Take a look at the way The Part 15 Map of America and the Big Radio Dials have been worked into the KDX Part 15 page:

I am not 100% sure about this so anyone can clue me in if i am wrong.
Didn't The Dude create The Part 15 Map of America for us? I need an edit on that map since my station no longer resides in London,Ky.
As you all may know , we are in Eastern Ky now just outside of Hazard,Ky. Willard,Ky to be exact.
It's complicated, for some reason I have a Busy,Ky address even though Busy is 3 miles north of me and our post office is 8 miles away in Hazard,Ky. Technically and Geographically we are in Willard,Ky which ironically isn't busy just like Busy,Ky. In fact , nothing happens here all that often.
But any way, is there a way to have the map updated?? If not i can live with it.
Cheers

EDIT: I Paid attention this time when i looked at the map, there is an email address so i used it to request a change.
The Part 15 Map of America was invented is currently actively updated by the man once known as "The Crow," and known also to this day as Mighty 1650.
It is the Number One genius contribution to Part 15 Culture since loading coils.
Since I got a Grundig Radio now I would like to try and pull in some part 15 shortwave stations if they would actually skip. Any of you running any? That would be so cool.
I have mine running on 13560, however its off at the moment. There are a few others as well.
I tried to receive some part 15 shortwave stations on that frequency. So far its quiet. The DX is supposed to be strong on the 75 meter ham band like 3.885 Mhz. I got AM hams on that frequency and lots of SSB just lower than that but I need a 9 volt for my BFO to get the SSB. However the AM guys were comming in nicely. I'm 13 Mhz has DXed just slightly so if its legal at 13.560 I may get some part 15 SW stations if the DX is really strong. I've heard of 100mW stations skipping on 75 meters and 15 meters. So I think it can happen. Especially if someone ran a SSB Shourwave station although beware that would be harder to receive and try and keep the music at the right pitch. We'll see.
