Dangit I missed it!
Though obviously as one of the original collaborators of NLN (Our National Longwave Network project, on hold)I do wanna be a part of this fine association!
So count me in as a member!
I'll be more than happy to contribute.
Count Me In As a Member!

To all of the folks who have read this thread.
All of us at the National Association of Low Power Broadcaster's would like to encourage and invite any of you who have listened to the meeting and who think we have a good thing going on , to join us at the next meeting.
I will be posting an outline of our Goals and our hopes for the future of Radio and our network.
Thanks for the support from the guys at the meeting and let's always work for a better radio world.
I have only known Lefty Gomez a short while. From his recent appearance here at part15.us I gather that he's been here before, and has old and established friends who remember him and welcome him back.
Well, after hearing Lefty as original founder and chairman of the Low Power Network, I am blown away.
In the "Team Speak" recording of that first meeting we discover several of our members in a whole new dimension, that of the world of speech and articulation.
I had special cause to hear the meeting several times, since I used a portion of it in LPH#41, and am so proud to be one of this gang of smart radio people.
Speaking for the new NALPB Group, I would say that WE are radio. Radio LIVES! Radio is on life support because part 15 is the CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)of radio's very life.
What I do not know is whether I am a Charter Member. Although I handed my proxy vote to Lefty, he said, "I don't know if I want that power." Lefty is a humble man, but powerful in his own right, for the very reason he defers power. No wonder he's respected by people who remember him.
A great moment for part 15.
Yes Carl you are a Charter member 🙂
I sure hope to see you at the next meeting and thank you very very much for the Kind words about me.
Again folks , We are going to bring radio back to being what it should be.
Long Live Radio!
I saw another post about how to format italics and strong text. Now my signature is just like the other charter members.
I think our organization should have a logo. The NAB and every other organization has a logo. I picture one with a radio tower representing the A in NALPB. I think that would be neat.
Had a chance to finally listen to the meeting. I love the organic, but professional nature of all of us sharing our content with each other to make our stations stronger.
Excellent work.
I'd love to be a "charter member," but my two transmitters are sitting in a box at the moment as I'm still getting settled into a new home & a new community. I have some grand ideas for my own transmitter, but I'm looking forward to interacting with the rest of the network and gleaning programming (as well as contributing it).
My gig right now is online high school sports broadcasting and my energies are largely pointed that direction, but community Part 15 (with, possibly, a corresponding stream) is my next big project to tackle. Unfortunately, this usually means I'll be on the air live while the Friday-night meetings are being held.
So, if I could be considered an adjunct charter member, that'd be great :).
...but I'm a member. I feel as long as you have plans to run a low power station, have an interest in our cause, or at least have content that you can share you should be a member.
As lefty said, any members of this forum are welcome.
"I'm not currently on the air...but I'm a member. I feel as long as you have plans to run a low power station, have an interest in our cause, or at least have content that you can share you should be a member."
You may not be on the air at present, but you plan to be and once finances allow, set up your transmitter and get on the air.
"As lefty said, any members of this forum are welcome."
Membership in the National Association of Low Power Broadcasters is not necessarily limited to just the members of Part 15.us forums. It is open to ANYONE who operates a Part 15 station, or plans to set up a station, or is involved with one directly by co-ownership or has a large role in the decision making for said station.
Remember this is a grass roots level endeavor and it must include and involve as many Part 15 operators no matter where they may be, or where they "hang out" online in the radio community sites, and involve and include our listening audiences in every location, any location where a Part 15 station operates and involved with the NALPB.
I am quite excited about this new organization. Here we have our chance to create something that can and will, with the right direction and dedication, build that loud voice we so desperately need to be heard in the industry as well as in the halls of the FCC.
With the right plan and action, eventually we can get a bit more relaxed regulations. But that should NOT be our end goal or a priority. The priority is to bring back radio like it once was. Radio that was involved with the community it is licensed to serve, listening to that community and fulfilling what the public wants out of THEIR airwaves.
Requesting for more power, bigger antennas, all that jazz is not what NALPB is about. It's about returning that which does belong to the people, and the people have that right to have a voice in how those airwaves are utilized for the public's benefit, not banks and big broadcast conglomerates and organizations designed to monopolize and compartmentalize and scrutinize the spectrum into chunks of real estate auction blocks to line their pockets and their lobbyists in Washington.
Time for a radio revolution. Time to open up that big mic and speak directly into it with assurance, direction and devotion.
I'm in it for the LONG HAUL.
And your right Channel X, we need a graphic logo. 😀

This CONSTRUCTION PERMIT, issued by The National Association of Low Power Broadcasters, under authority of FCC Rules Part 15 in the U.S., authorizes Channel X 1610 to construct a radio broadcast station.
This CONSTRUCTION PERMIT may be renewed by yourself for as long as you want.
I agree with everything RFB has said.
As for Carl, as soon as I can save up $100 or so, I'm buying a talking house transmitter to get on the air. Then I'll save up the extra $350 or so to get the ATU. It's gonna take alot of time but I really wanna get on the air. I got the construction permit now lol 🙂
Hey wait! That construction permit should have a stamp of the NALPB logo on it! 😉

To the NALPB Board of Directors, some business...
Please post a list of those who participated on the first Team Speak Meeting.
For the benefit of the audio audience, please introduce each of yourselves when you speak for the first time, so we can connect the voice with the identity.
The audio quality was so good, it may be that Team Speak is better than a telephone connection for talk show interviews.
Now I just want to tinker with words....... the word "network" has the word "work" in it. But we do radio for play. How does the word "netplay" sound to you?
"This is the NALPB Radio Netplay."
