I remember some people said it took a day and a half to complete. Well it took me around one hour and it was done! So far I really like Win10. It isn't running my CPU off the charts, there aren't any glitches and all around just seems nice.
Windows 10 does not support Audacity!!! So I went back to Win7, which works like a charm still.
I still run Windows 7 and will continue to do so for the forseeable future - at least until I see some things I can't do in 7 that I can do in 10 (and that I really need).
I still use windows XP home premium and have a back up copy so if I get a newer computer I can have the version installed replaced with XP. Why?.....because if it works don't fix it, don't like change and most importantly, chessmaster won't work with any newer version of windows than XP, and no later version of chessmaster has been made to work with later versions of windows.

No Audacity on Windows 10? What about compatibility mode? There was suppose to be this wonderful compatibility mode that even allowed Windows 95 and 98 software to work. So much for that lie. I totally agree. Windows 7 was the best thing since Windows XP. My Laptop that I got from the pawn shop came with Windows 8 and I just ran a program called Classic Shell that makes Windows 8 look like Windows 7. I love it and don't like the tiles and trying to make my computer look like a Windows phone. It is so cheesey. The Windows XP/7 was the best way of doing things. If Microsoft doesn't watch it Linux will catch up and pass them. Hell Google Chrome is even better than the newer versions of Windows for most people that don't need software. But I need Windows for the Radio station. Its the best way to go for Part15 and Internet Radio as well. I'm sure Windows 10 would mess with Internet Radio software.
I have 10 running on my live show pc and its running sweet, no problems running Zara Radio.
I downloaed DoNotSpy10 and installed that and ticked all the options.

Remember when installing do a custom install and untick all the other rubbish it wants to install.
On the weekend I'll test a shoutcast server to see if that still works.
Well did it a day early, please to report the the shoutcast server runs. But had to do a few mods.
I had to change the folder permissons for my Edcast encoder and the Shoutcast folder to Users to have full rights otherwise You cant change and save any of the options. Did that by going to Programe Files and rightclicking on the folders the files were installed in, Propertys, sercurity , Clicking on Users then Edit and then ticked Full Control. After that no problems.
Johny's solution might be what Atrain needs to kick Audacity into working with Windows 10?
I downloaded Audacity. It installed and ran with no problems on win 10 for me.
Can XP be updated to Windows 10?
Carl, you can only upgrade win 7 & Win 8.1 to win 10, no other opperating system.
Thanks Johny.
I'm keeping XP on this computer to the bitter end, but I'm going to shop for a re-conditioned computer and would like suggestions what operating system I should put on it?
I have eight functional computers here of various ages, using operating systems including WIN XP. Vista Home Premium, WIN 7 Starter (a netbook), WIN 7 Professional, WIN 8/8.1, and WIN 10 with its latest updates.
After learning their basics and differences, I've had no operational issues with any of them for the dozens of software programs I use.
PS: I do like and prefer my experience when using WIN 10.
Thank you Rich. Your experience is very helpful in pointing the way for adding a second computer.
Maybe the deciding factor will end up being whatever OS is already installed on a 2nd hand computer, but now that seems to be nothing to worry about.
